“Gameseed is one of our concrete efforts to realize the creative economy as a driver of new economic growth. Beyond promoting culture through games, Gameseed is also expected to produce future high-quality talent for the creative industry,” said the Minister of Creative Economy on Thursday, 23 October 2025.

Gameseed 2025 marks its third year of implementation, aiming to cultivate new talent in game development and strengthen the national game industry through a series of activities, including a roadshow starting in May 2025, matriculation, game jam, curation, incubation, and final pitching. During the final pitching session, finalists presented their games before a panel of judges to determine the top three teams in each category (TOP 3). The session was broadcast online and attracted more than 2,500 live viewers, reflecting strong public enthusiasm for local game creations.

Gameseed also serves as an entry point for aspiring game developers to gain insights into the industry, opportunities, and the creative ecosystem support available in Indonesia. Gameseed 2025 is a collaborative program between the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Indonesian Game Association (AGI), with support from Tencent, Nuon Digital Indonesia, and Google. Minister Teuku Riefky noted the program’s potential as an important platform for local game developers to showcase their work to national and global industry players.

President of the Indonesian Game Association (AGI) Shafiq Husein stated that Gameseed plays a vital role in fostering the growth of the national game ecosystem, offering a total prize pool of Rp102 million as recognition of the creativity and innovation of local game developers.

“Through support from the government and industry partners, we want to ensure that Indonesian talents continue to grow and have opportunities to contribute to the game industry. We also hope Gameseed can nurture new seeds for young creators and studios that will enrich the diversity and future identity of Indonesia’s game industry,” said Shafiq Husein.

Echoing this view, Country Head of Level Infinite Indonesia, Tencent, Agung Chaniago, expressed confidence that government support can boost participants’ confidence and help expand networks among developers and game publishers.

“Gameseed is an excellent opportunity for local game developers as it provides an official platform for them to gain visibility not only nationally but also globally. They also receive strong mentorship that helps them better understand game development and how different markets may respond,” said Agung Chaniago.

Program Manager of the Indonesian Game Association (AGI) and Program Lead of Gameseed 2025, Calvin Mona Sandehang, added that the quality of participants’ works has improved this year, both in design and technical aspects.

“Not only did the number of participants increase to 1,620, but the involvement of game industry players also grew compared to previous years. This reflects a strong commitment from the ecosystem to jointly develop talent and advance the national game industry. We hope Gameseed will continue to inspire new talents and pave the way for participants to enter the game industry,” said Calvin Mona.
