Denpasar, 31 October 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency is integrating blockchain technology to protect Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and digital assets of Indonesian creative workers. This strategic step is realized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Baliola during the Bali Blockchain Summit 2025, opening opportunities for local creative works to be used as fiduciary collateral and traded transparently.

“For us at the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency, blockchain provides significant opportunities for the creative economy sector—from IPR protection through an IP registry to the appreciation of local works and products. This technology can strengthen creative product value chains through data transparency and expand access to financing and commercialization based on more inclusive digital assets,” stated Minister of Creative Economy/Head of Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, at the Bali Blockchain Summit 2025 held on 30–31 October 2025 in Denpasar, Bali, under the theme ‘Blockchain for Protection and Sustainability: Building Digital Trust for a Sustainable Future.’”
The event was officially opened by the Deputy Mayor of Denpasar, I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, serving as a strategic platform to strengthen the national digital ecosystem through cross-sector collaboration. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of building an inclusive and equitable digital ecosystem as a step toward a digitally resilient and transparent Denpasar.
At the same occasion, Special Staff to the Minister of Creative Economy/Head of Creative Economy Agency for Internal Management and Organizational Effectiveness, Yanuar Pranuradhi, was present to witness the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency and Baliola regarding the development of a blockchain ecosystem for the creative economy. The cooperation includes research, project incubation, and digital talent training to accelerate blockchain adoption within the creative economy sector.

Baliola CEO and event organizer, IGP Rahman Desyanta, conveyed that the company, together with the Denpasar City Government, is developing several blockchain-based initiatives such as the establishment of Blockchain as a Service (BaaS), the development of digital identity Proof of Concept, and the promotion of Cyber Trust within local communities. Baliola is also collaborating with BRIDA and the Denpasar City Tourism Office through the Green Hotel program and the Denpasar Innovation Tag as part of regional digital transformation.
In a panel session titled “Creative Economy 3.0: Protecting Copyright and Originality of Creative Products with Blockchain,” Director of New Digital Technology at the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency, Dandy Yudha Feryawan, explained that intellectual property is now a strategic economic asset that can be used as fiduciary collateral under Government Regulation No. 24 of 2022. He emphasized that blockchain can address challenges related to registration, ownership, and copyright infringement by ensuring authenticity and transparency of IP.

The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency also presented an interactive booth featuring various strategic initiatives including digital startup development, blockchain literacy, and showcases of tech-based creative products. As part of its educational efforts, the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency collaborated with the IDNFT community to hold a workshop titled “Introduction to Blockchain: Use Case and Basic Demo,” attended by university and high-school students in Denpasar. Through this activity, participants were introduced to Web3 concepts and NFTs as part of digital literacy relevant to the future needs of Indonesia’s creative industry.
