Jakarta, 3 February 2026 – Creative Economy Minister / Head of the Creative Economy Agency Teuku Riefky Harsya is ready to support collaboration for Java Jazz Festival 2026. The event-based Intellectual Property (IP) serves as a concrete example of sustainability that evolves with the times.
Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya received an audience from PT Java Festival Production at the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency office in Jakarta on Tuesday (3/2/2026).
“Java Jazz Festival is not just a music performance, but a tangible proof that Indonesian event IP can remain relevant and adapt to changing times. We are ready to support collaboration so that this festival can have an even greater impact on the national creative industry,” said Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky during the audience with PT Java Festival Production at the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency office on Tuesday, 3 February 2026.
This year marks the 21st edition of the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival. Java Jazz Festival 2026 is planned to be held at the Nusantara International Convention and Exhibition (NICE) PIK 2 from 29–31 May 2026.
Since its inaugural event in 2005, Java Jazz has demonstrated the consistency of the music ecosystem in generating economic value and cultural diplomacy. Several derivative festivals, such as Java Soulnation, Java Rockin’land, Soundsfair, and Hodgepodge Festival, have also contributed to strengthening the portfolio of Indonesia’s performing arts industry.

Java Jazz Festival President Director Dewi Gontha explained that the selection of the new location at PIK 2 is based on ease of access for both domestic and international visitors. The site is considered closer to the airport and supported by adequate accommodation options in the surrounding area.
“Throughout its history, Java Jazz Festival has hosted 4,000 musicians from abroad. One reason for moving the venue to NICE is its proximity to the airport, which facilitates international musicians’ access to the venue. ‘Beyond The Horizon Where Dreams Take The Stage’ is our theme because we want to expand to a bigger space. Some of the concepts we are trying to develop are related to the archipelago theme, as we also want to include music from various regions,” she said.
During the audience, Dewi also expressed her hope that the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency could collaborate in supporting the event. According to the organizers’ data, the majority of Java Jazz visitors come from the Southeast Asia region, accounting for 52 percent, followed by visitors from the Americas, Europe, and Africa.
