Jakarta, June 25, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) and BINUS University have strengthened their collaboration in advancing Indonesia’s creative economy through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Synergy of Higher Education’s Four Pillars (Catur Dharma) Programs and Creative Economy Development.

The partnership marks a strategic step toward enhancing the national creative economy ecosystem through human capital development, research, innovation, and collaborative programs that generate tangible benefits for society.
Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy/Secretary of the Creative Economy Agency, Dessy Ruhati, stated that the development of the creative economy requires cross-sector collaboration involving government institutions, academia, businesses, communities, media, and financial institutions.
"Through our collaboration with BINUS University, we hope to develop programs that strengthen the creative economy ecosystem while enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s creative talents and industry players," Dessy said during the signing ceremony at BINUS University in Jakarta on Thursday (June 25).
The MoU was signed by Dessy Ruhati and BINUS University Rector Dr. Nelly, S.Kom., M.M. The agreement is expected to establish a stronger foundation between academia and government in producing creative talents capable of meeting industry demands while enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s creative economy.

The scope of cooperation includes education, research, community engagement, technology transfer, and personal development programs aligned with the evolving needs of the creative industry.
BINUS University Rector Dr. Nelly highlighted the rapid growth of the creative economy, driven by technological advancements and the increasing role of young talents.
"This momentum underscores the importance of synergy between educational institutions and the government. Through this MoU, we hope to unlock broader opportunities for student programs, creative economy-based startup development, as well as scientific activities and workshops that are relevant to the needs of today’s creative industries," she said.
In addition to the signing ceremony, the event, held at the BINUS University Auditorium, served as a discussion forum for both institutions to identify future collaboration opportunities that can be further developed.
