Jakarta, June 9, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency continues to strengthen its collaboration with Statistics Indonesia (BPS) to reinforce a more comprehensive and accurate national creative economy data foundation. Strengthening data serves as an important step in formulating policies that are more precise, adaptive, and impactful in driving economic growth and job creation.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya receives an audience from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (June 9, 2026).
The matter was discussed during a meeting between Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya and Head of Statistics Indonesia Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta on Tuesday (June 9). The meeting covered the strengthening of creative economy Gross Domestic Product (GDP) statistics, exports of creative economy goods and services, the development of the Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI) for the creative economy, and support for the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census.
“We highly appreciate the collaboration that has been established with BPS as our most strategic partner, enabling statistical data to serve as the Ministry’s fundamental capital in building a strong foundation. Moving forward, policies can no longer be developed based on assumptions but must be grounded in strong, accurate, and relevant data so that every intervention is well-targeted,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.

In addition to strengthening statistics, the two institutions also discussed expanding the scope of creative economy activities within the 2025 KBLI framework to better accommodate evolving business models, technological developments, and creative activities.
The Minister emphasized that the creative economy sector plays a significant role in creating employment opportunities, strengthening the middle class, and enhancing Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global market.
“In the future, Indonesia’s creative economy will not only focus on the domestic market but also on how Indonesian creative works and talents can compete globally. We are also ready to support BPS’s priority programs, including the 2026 Economic Census and the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas),” he stated.

“This is precisely why the creative economy is a rapidly growing sector and a uniquely dynamic one. Each of its subsectors contributes to inclusive economic growth because they employ large numbers of local communities. Therefore, BPS and the Ministry of Creative Economy must continue collaborating so that creative economy policies become more solid through a comprehensive statistical data foundation produced by BPS, especially as we approach the important milestone of the 2026 Economic Census,” explained Amalia.
During the meeting, the Minister was accompanied by Special Staff for Strategic Issues and Inter-Institutional Relations Rian Syaf; Special Staff for Internal Management and Organizational Effectiveness Yanuar Pranuradhi; Director of Strategic Studies and Management Agus Syarip Hidayat; Head of the Data and Information Center Reslyana Dwitasari; and Ministerial Expert Staff Gemintang Kejora Mallarangeng.
