Jakarta, 29 November 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency strengthens the synergy of Indonesian diaspora talent through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian Diaspora Network (IDN) Global. This collaboration is part of the 1,000 Creative Diaspora initiative, aimed at identifying and supporting Indonesian creative talent abroad.
Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, menyaksikan penandatanganan Kesepahaman Bersama (MoU) Kementerian Ekonomi Kreatif dengan Indonesian Diaspora Network (IDN) Global yang berlangsung di The Kasablanka Hall, Jakarta, Sabtu (29/11/2025).
“The Ministry of Creative Economy highly appreciates the initiative led by Chairman of the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), Dino Patti Djalal, together with IDN Global, through the signing of this MoU for the 1,000 Creative Diaspora Program. Indonesian diaspora abroad increasingly possess world-class creative abilities. At the same time, this partnership helps Indonesian creative industry players gain access to international markets with the support of the diaspora,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya at The Kasablanka Hall, Jakarta, on Saturday, 29 November 2025.
Minister Riefky highlighted that the MoU is grounded in the spirit of revitalizing the national creative economy while building a global network for creative professionals. He added that the ongoing Conference on Indonesian Foreign Policy (CIFP) 2025 also supports the creative economy as a new engine of national growth in line with President Prabowo’s Asta Cita agenda. This aligns with the 1,000 Creative Diaspora initiative, strengthening Indonesia’s cultural diplomacy and soft power.
“The goal of the 1,000 Creative Diaspora is to engage Indonesians abroad in supporting the President’s program to develop the creative industry. Collaboration with the diaspora is crucial for advancing all 17 creative economy subsectors, including culture- and design-based creativity, digital and technology-based creativity, as well as media-based creativity,” Minister Riefky explained.

IDN Global is an independent nonprofit organization that serves as a platform for diaspora empowerment, with the vision Connecting the Dots, Expanding Opportunities. The organization focuses on harnessing the diaspora’s potential to advance national interests, expand networks and opportunities, and act as a strategic partner for government and private sectors.

The MoU was signed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy/Chief Secretary of the Creative Economy Agency, Dessy Ruhati, and Nathalia Widjaja, President of IDN Global, witnessed by Minister Riefky and FPCI Founder Dino Patti Djalal. The signing ceremony was accompanied by the presentation of plaques and the book Diaspora Indonesia Bersinergi, marking the beginning of the collaboration to develop Indonesia’s creative economy.
The MoU scope includes:
Facilitating meetings between creative industry actors, investors, and stakeholders to open collaboration and market development opportunities;
Exchanging and utilizing data and information for creative economy development;
Developing marketing strategies for the creative economy;
Enhancing human resource capacity;
Building and strengthening a conducive, inclusive, and sustainable investment ecosystem in the creative economy sector; and
Other collaborations and activities in line with the respective functions of both parties.
