Ministry of Creative Economy and IVENDO Agree to Strengthen the Event Industry to Advance National Creative Economy

Jakarta, 14 August 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy and the Indonesian Event Industry Council (IVENDO) officially established a strategic partnership to strengthen the national event industry. This five-year cooperation focuses on human resource development, competency standardization, and international market expansion.

“Through this MoU, IVENDO becomes a strategic partner in advancing Asta Ekraf, ensuring that the event industry not only grows but also contributes directly to national creative economy development,” stated Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya during the MoU signing with IVENDO Chairman Irvan Mahidin Soekamto at the Ministry of Ekraf Auditorium, Jakarta, Thursday, 14 August 2025.

This agreement follows a previous meeting between the two parties on 11 March 2025. Minister Harsya emphasized that the MoU represents a strategic step to strengthen collaboration in developing the event industry, which is one of the main drivers of the national creative economy through the Ministry’s eight clusters, known as Asta Ekraf.

“The 8 Asta Ekraf serve as the roadmap of the Ministry’s flagship programs to strengthen the national creative ecosystem. Today, the signing of the MoU with IVENDO is a key step to accelerate its implementation,” said Minister Harsya.

The document serves as a strategic foundation to enhance synergy and coordination in advancing the creative economy, particularly through the role of the event industry, which holds significant potential to create economic value and open employment opportunities.

The scope of the collaboration includes data and information exchange, funding facilitation, marketing development, utilization of assets and infrastructure, capacity building for human resources, and joint activities at national and international levels.

IVENDO Chairman Irvan Mahidin Soekamto stated that this partnership reflects a shared commitment to develop the event industry toward professionalism, collaboration, progressiveness, and global competitiveness.

“This is a concrete program that we have formulated, including promoting industry professionalism and competency standardization, strengthening the ecosystem and cross-sector collaboration, advancing event diplomacy internationally, accelerating digitalization, innovation, and HR development, and fostering organizational independence through sustainable financing schemes,” he explained.

Through this collaboration, the Ministry of Ekraf and IVENDO are committed to promoting equitable development of the event industry from central to regional levels, ensuring that economic independence becomes increasingly tangible, and providing direct benefits to creative actors across Indonesia.

Ekraf represents the new face of national economic development, rooted in creativity, innovation, and collaboration, with the philosophy of “The New Engine of National Economic Growth, Starting from the Regions” to empower local potential as a driver of inclusive and sustainable growth.

Also present were Secretary General Evan Saepul Rohman, the High Council of the Organization, representatives from M Bloc, SRKEL, IVENDO partners, and all IVENDO members for the 2025–2028 period. Minister Harsya was accompanied by Ministry Secretary Dessy Ruhati, Deputy for Strategic Creative Economy Development Cecep Rukendi, and other Ministry of Ekraf officials.
