Jakarta, June 12, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, welcomed the Jejak Buddha Nusantara team at the Autograph Tower on Thursday, June 12, 2025. The meeting discussed the development of a digital platform focused on history and spirituality as a driver for culture- and history-based creative economy.

“The integration of history, culture, and digital innovation should become a new direction for the growth of our creative economy. Initiatives like Jejak Buddha Nusantara have great potential to create creative experiences that are both educational and socially impactful. This is a local innovation that, with the right approach, can reach global markets,” said the Deputy Minister.
The Deputy Minister presented several ideas for development, ranging from strengthening digital narratives, exploring multimedia content, to strategies for public engagement through cross-platform approaches. She emphasized the importance of creating digital experiences that are not only informative but also emotional and imaginative.
The platform’s development plan includes key steps such as improving the quality of educational content, strengthening storytelling rooted in local wisdom, and fostering collaboration with various stakeholders to build a sustainable digital content ecosystem. This initiative also aims to reach global audiences through a creative, high-standard approach.
Jejak Buddha Nusantara is envisioned not only as a catalog of historical sites but also as a public interaction space and a showcase for the local creative economy. Planned features include a destination directory, site history and environmental narratives, public forums, travel recommendations, user reviews, social media integration, and a marketplace for local creative products.
Deputy Minister Irene Umar encouraged further development of initiatives such as Jejak Buddha Nusantara as part of strengthening the cultural and digital innovation-based creative economy.
“The creative economy must become the new engine of growth for this nation, and initiatives like this show how historical values can be transformed into relevant, impactful contributions,” said Deputy Minister Irene Umar.

Meanwhile, Jejak Buddha Nusantara producer Alim Sudio welcomed the opportunity to discuss with the Deputy Minister and expressed his commitment to sustainably developing the platform. He noted that the discussion provided many new perspectives, particularly in bridging historical values with a digital approach that is relevant to society.
“This platform is designed not only as an educational medium, but also as a way to encourage public participation in preserving and revitalizing historical sites,” said Alim.
