Jakarta, 26 December 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency, in collaboration with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), Jumbo, and IP Factory Commuterline, presents 11 Intellectual Property (IP) works through livery installations in public transportation spaces. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar described this collaboration as tangible proof of strengthening the creative economy ecosystem through public spaces.
Kementerian Ekonomi Kreatif berkolaborasi dengan PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) dan IP Factory Commutorline menghadirkan 11 karya Intellectual Property (IP) untuk livery di ruang publik transportasi.
“This IP Train collaboration represents a fundamental shift in mindset. We must stop viewing public assets such as trains merely as functional ‘hardware.’ They are a canvas—a giant canvas to showcase the nation’s finest ‘software,’ namely our local Intellectual Property (IP),” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene on Friday, 26 December 2025.
The 11 local IPs featured are Jumbo, Lokerserem, Belanja Ria, Pletesan, Arlo, Glek n Go, Mora Olfi, Nine to Field, Menyonisme, Skudeye, and Kosanimal. Through the IP Train program, train journeys serve not only as a mode of mobility but also as a space for creative experiences.
“Our role at the Ministry of Creative Economy is to act as a strategic ‘matchmaking bureau’ that facilitates this collaboration. The objective is clear: to transform journeys from mere ‘mobility’ into a moving storytelling platform that also becomes a ‘moment of pride.’ By reaching millions of eyes along the railway lines, we are not only creating new economic value for creators, but, more importantly, building national pride every time these trains pass by,” Deputy Minister Irene explained.

Several long-distance train sets have been transformed with visual touches of local IP characters through the installation of Christmas and New Year–themed livery on locomotives and exterior car bodies, supported by activations at several stations during the holiday period. President Director of PT KAI Bobby Rasyidin stated that the IP Train is part of KAI’s commitment to delivering public services that are increasingly relevant and value-added.
“Through the IP Train, we aim to offer journeys that not only take passengers to their destinations but also provide a more vibrant and meaningful experience. This collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy and local IP creators reflects KAI’s commitment to optimizing public assets, supporting the national creative industry, and delivering services that are closer to the community,” he said.
The Jumbo livery is featured on the Argo Dwipangga train, which passes through several stations such as Gambir, Bandung, Semarang Tawang, and Surabaya Pasar Turi. Meanwhile, the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 thematic livery has been installed at several stations and on a number of intercity train services, including KA Argo Wilis/Turangga, KA Jayabaya/Gaya Baru Malam Selatan, KA Pandalungan, and KA Argo Dwipangga, serving strategic routes such as Bandung–Surabaya, Malang–Pasarsenen–Surabaya, Gambir–Jember, and Solo–Gambir.

From the creators’ perspective, Lokoloko, a representative of IP Factory Commuterline, views the IP Train as a unique and contextual storytelling medium.
“Trains are public spaces that have strong emotional interactions with their passengers. Through the IP Train, our local IP characters and stories are directly present in people’s journeys, creating a vivid and inclusive visual experience across generations,” he said.
The IP Train program aligns with the spirit of ‘Serving with All Our Heart,’ through which Kereta Api Indonesia continues to deliver public services that are not only safe and comfortable, but also memorable for the community.
The IP Train will be present throughout the Christmas and New Year 2025–2026 period.
