Jakarta, August 5, 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy, in collaboration with PT Anggana Catur Prima and the Association of Culinary Professionals (ACP) Indonesia, held a cooking competition for high school and vocational school students majoring in Culinary Arts, titled “Koki Muda Koepoe Koepoe”. This competition aims to elevate the culinary subsector while developing young cooking talents with creativity and innovation.

“Among the 17 creative economy subsectors, culinary is one of the top three that contribute significantly to Indonesia’s creative economy. Through the Koki Muda Koepoe Koepoe initiative, numerous job opportunities can be created. Support from the Ministry of Creative Economy ensures that the hexahelix collaboration between business, education, and creative economy players can strengthen Indonesia’s creative ecosystem,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar during the press conference for the Koki Muda Koepoe Koepoe Competition at the office of Anggana Catur Prima, Jakarta, on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Koki Muda Koepoe Koepoe is a competition that challenges participants to create Indonesian dishes that are creative, innovative, and rich in flavor, using various local spices provided by Koepoe Koepoe. The competition involves 45 schools and 657 teams from three cities—Jakarta, Bandung, and Yogyakarta—who will compete through the Roadshow, Bigbang, and Grand Final stages.
“The Koki Muda Koepoe Koepoe Competition not only educates and promotes national culture but also strengthens economic activity. There is great potential in nurturing young culinary talents who will shape Indonesia’s culinary identity and competitiveness on the international stage. This initiative also reflects Koepoe Koepoe’s commitment to preserving Indonesia’s rich flavors while introducing local spices to the younger generation,” said Deputy Minister Irene, accompanied by Director for Culinary, Andy Ruswar.

As a brand that has been part of Indonesia’s culinary ecosystem since 1942, Koepoe Koepoe aims to create an educational platform that inspires aspiring young chefs to learn deeply about Indonesia’s spices.
“Through this competition, Koepoe Koepoe aims to create an educational platform that enhances creativity and skills in developing the nation’s culinary heritage. This is concrete proof of Koepoe Koepoe’s commitment to bringing Indonesia’s wide variety of spices closer to the younger generation,” said CEO of PT Anggana Catur Prima, Harry Widjaja.
Meanwhile, the President of ACP Indonesia, Chef Rafael Triloko Basanto, stated that this event creates a competitive, educational, and prestigious space for students to excel in the culinary field.

“The Koki Muda Koepoe Koepoe Competition will produce new talents in the culinary industry. It marks an important milestone in culinary education for young generations. This competition will help produce future Indonesian chefs ready to compete globally,” said Chef Rafael.
In line with this statement, one of the competition’s judges, Chef Ronald Tekilov, expressed that this event is an important step in regenerating Indonesian chefs who have taste, character, and pride in their culinary identity.
“This competition is a breakthrough that opens space for creativity, especially in utilizing local spices. Young culinary talents must create something authentic. Hopefully, the future of Indonesia’s culinary scene—now in the hands of the younger generation—will continue to innovate with courage,” added Chef Ron.
