Jakarta, June 12, 2025 — Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, expressed hope that the 8th National Community Sports Festival (Festival Olahraga Masyarakat Nasional/FORNAS) VIII 2025 will boost local economic growth, particularly for creative economy talents in the culinary, craft, and fashion sectors. This was conveyed during a meeting with the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (Komite Olahraga Masyarakat Indonesia/KORMI) at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

“FORNAS VIII 2025 is not just a sports event—it’s a great opportunity to showcase the richness of local arts and culture. The collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and KORMI can provide a platform for West Nusa Tenggara’s creative economy talents to step onto the national stage and expand their market reach,” said Minister Teuku Riefky.
The meeting was attended by KORMI National Chairperson Adil Hakim, Deputy Chairperson III, Rezka Oktoberia, and KORMI national board members.
During the discussion, both parties explored potential strategic partnerships in the lead-up to FORNAS VIII 2025, scheduled to be held in West Nusa Tenggara Province from July 26 to August 1, 2025.
Minister Teuku Riefky emphasized that the Ministry is currently open to wide-ranging collaborations across various subsectors, recognizing the economic impact such efforts can bring to creative economy talents and the promotion of regional creative industries.
KORMI is a national organization that fosters community-based sports through three core pillars: fitness sports, traditional and cultural sports, and adventure sports. KORMI plays a key role in promoting an active lifestyle through inclusive and recreational approaches that reach diverse segments of society.

The National Community Sports Festival (FORNAS) is a biennial event that brings together thousands of community sports groups from across Indonesia. This year, West Nusa Tenggara will host the festival, welcoming participants from all 38 provinces. Besides community-based sports competitions, FORNAS will also serve as a platform for regional cultural performances and community creative expressions.
KORMI National Chairperson, Adil Hakim, welcomed the synergy being developed with the Ministry of Creative Economy.
“FORNAS is a powerful platform to bring creative economy initiatives closer to the community. Community-based sports have grown significantly in scale and structure—this presents a major opportunity to expand the reach of the creative economy and strengthen the role of regions in the national creative economy landscape,” he said.
Also accompanying the Minister during the meeting were the Senior Advisor for Funding and Financing, Restog Krisna Kusuma, and the Head of the Human Resource Development Center for Creative Economy, Siamwahyuni.
