Jakarta, February 17, 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency and the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Development of the Creative Economy. The signing took place at the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions office in Jakarta on Monday, February 17, 2025.

Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya and Minister of Villages Yandri Susanto signed the agreement in the presence of officials from both ministries. This collaboration aims to establish the creative economy as a driving force for equitable national economic growth, extending to rural areas.
"This is a major effort for all of us to make the creative economy a new engine of national economic growth. Villages play a crucial role in ensuring equitable welfare distribution. Moreover, in the sixth point of President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita program, it is stated that development will begin from villages to promote economic equity and eradicate poverty," said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.

The Ministry of Creative Economy will involve all stakeholders, including business players, the government, communities, media, financial institutions, and Kemendes PDT, as the responsible authority for rural and disadvantaged areas.
"The development of the creative economy requires comprehensive guidance, expansion, and assistance—not only in urban centers but also in villages and underdeveloped regions. This partnership greatly supports the Ministry of Creative Economy in collaborating with relevant ministries," added Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.

According to Minister of Creative Economy Riefky, the scope of cooperation covers four key aspects: data exchange and utilization, institutional strengthening, and governance enhancement of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in the creative economy sector, creative economy development in villages and disadvantaged areas, and capacity-building for human resources in the creative economy sector.
"Economic development must reach all sectors, including rural areas that are in dire need. Inter-ministerial collaboration is key to fostering a spirit of cooperation, innovation, and empowerment in villages," emphasized Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions will reinforce its Festival Bangun Desa, Bangun Indonesia (Build the Village, Build Indonesia Festival) program. This initiative aims to drive rural economic growth, optimize village funds for food security, create waste-free villages, and develop leading villages across Indonesia.
"We are committed to fostering strong collaboration with relevant ministries to address various rural issues. Through this synergy, we are optimistic that we can accelerate priority programs such as food security, free nutritious meals, and the optimization of village funds," said Minister Yandri.

Also attending the event were Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Choiri Fauzi, Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, Head of the National Nutrition Agency Dadan Hindayana, and Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Agus Subiyanto.
Accompanying Minister of Creative Economy Riefky at the signing were Ministry of Creative Economy Secretary-General Dessy Ruhati, Deputy for Strategic Creative Economy Development Cecep Rukendi, and Director of Marketing System Development and Institutional Relations Radi Manggala.
