Ministry of Creative Economy and Peruri Strengthen Creative Economy through Digitalization and Creative Spaces

Jakarta, 19 September 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy  and Perum Peruri officially collaborate to strengthen Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem through digitalization and Intellectual Property (IP) protection. This partnership was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday, 19 September 2025, aiming to support the four Asta Cita targets of President Prabowo Subianto for the creative economy sector: GDP contribution, exports, investment, and the creation of quality jobs.

“Today’s initiative supports the mandate from President Prabowo to continuously create quality employment, particularly by fostering the growth of Indonesia’s creative industries. The Ministry of Creative Economy is tasked with supporting four key targets: contribution to GDP, creative economy exports, investment in the creative economy, and creation of jobs within the creative sector,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya during the MoU signing ceremony at Peruri’s office in Jakarta.

The MoU represents a strategic step for both the Ministry of Creative Economy and Peruri to build a broader synergy to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem. The scope of cooperation includes:

  1. Exchange of data and/or information related to potential creative economy projects for collaboration;

  2. Utilization of infrastructure according to needs while observing applicable regulations and mutual benefits;

  3. Collaboration on digital marketing of creative economy products;

  4. Provision of digital security solutions and facilitation for IP protection of creative products;

  5. Strengthening human resource capacities of both parties;

  6. Other collaborations in line with the duties and functions of both parties.

The Minister of Creative Economy also expressed appreciation to Peruri for its contributions to the creative economy ecosystem, particularly through the development of Kota Peruri in Jakarta. Peruri has optimized its assets to create creative spaces that foster direct interaction between creative economy actors and the public.

“We sincerely thank Peruri for supporting and nurturing the creative economy ecosystem. This MoU brings fresh energy and progressive ideas, including through the development of Kota Peruri, which provides a creative hub for cross-sector activities and allows creative economy actors to interact directly with the public,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.

Peruri, headquartered in South Jakarta, is developing a 5.4-hectare integrated area called Kota Peruri, which includes the youth-focused creative hub M Bloc Space and the green public area “Taman Kota Peruri. Since its establishment a year ago, with support from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and the Jakarta Provincial Government, Kota Peruri has become a strategic public space with easy access to public transportation, ideal for creative community activities.

Peruri Indonesia has also transformed into a high-security technology company and has been a trusted provider of Government Technology (GovTech) solutions in Indonesia since 2023. Peruri contributes to efficiency, transparency, and accountability in government administration and public services.

Peruri CEO Dwina Septiani Kencanawati stated that as the sole state-owned company providing digital certificates, Peruri is ready to support digital transformation, including copyright protection and authentication across various sectors.

“Technology is now an inseparable part of developing the creative industry. Peruri provides digital solutions ranging from digital registration, electronic certification, to digital IDs to facilitate creative business licensing in film, music, culinary, and events, ensuring faster and safer processes. We hope this collaboration will provide tangible benefits and advance digitalization and protection in Indonesia’s creative economy,” said Dwina.

The event concluded with a visit to M Bloc Space and Taman Kota Peruri, tangible examples of urban transformation driven by creativity and collaboration, offering new opportunities for Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem.

During the visit, the Minister of Creative Economy was accompanied by Secretary of the Ministry/Principal Secretary Dessy Ruhati, Deputy for Strategic Development Cecep Rukendi, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Creative Economy. From Peruri, Digital Business Director Farah Rahmayati and Finance & Risk Management Director Fajar Rizki were present.
