Jakarta, 6 November 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency welcomed new initiatives to strengthen Indonesia’s national game industry, including plans for an international gaming event proposed by Sangnila Interactive Media and Technology. The discussion took place during an audience session focused on potential collaboration in talent development and funding for local game projects.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar highlighted the importance of building a holistic game ecosystem from creator development to expanding market opportunities for local games.
“The strength of Indonesia’s game industry lies in its ideas and local talent. Support for collaborative projects and programs—including educational games, mobile games, and e-sports competitions—must be directed toward nurturing more young creators and opening high-quality job opportunities for the younger generation to compete globally,” said the Deputy Minister at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on 6 November 2025.

Accompanied by the Ministry’s Director of Games, Luat Sihombing, the Deputy Minister emphasized the need for strategic collaboration to enhance talent and game developer development, expand funding access for local games and IPs, and foster an enabling environment for the growth of Indonesia’s game industry.
She added that the government plays a crucial role as a facilitator in connecting game studios, educational institutions, and investors to maximize the creative economy’s potential within the game subsector. “Cross-sector synergy is essential to ensure that the game ecosystem can grow sustainably and contribute significantly to the national economy,” she noted.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Sangnila Interactive outlined several collaborative initiatives aligned with policy directions, including expanding game creator development programs, supporting culturally inspired game projects, organizing an international gaming event in Indonesia, and pursuing funding or sponsorship opportunities for games and films.
“We see tremendous potential in advancing Indonesia’s game industry. Through collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy, we hope to encourage more initiatives that elevate local cultural values while strengthening the position of Indonesian games on the global stage,” said the CEO of Sangnila Interactive.

The meeting marks an initial step in exploring strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of game industry players and reinforcing the subsector’s role as a key component of the creative economy’s new engine of growth.
