Jakarta, May 12, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency, in collaboration with Solidaritas Perempuan untuk Indonesia Kabinet Merah Putih (Seruni KMP), held the Creative Economy Talent Development Workshop: Voice Over (Dubbing) in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. The voice over and dubbing industry is considered to hold significant potential amid the rapid growth of the creative economy and the surge of digital content in Indonesia.
The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency, together with Solidaritas Perempuan untuk Indonesia Kabinet Merah Putih (Seruni KMP), organized the Creative Economy Talent Development Workshop: Voice Over (Dubbing) in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
“Based on the Creative Economy Statistics report released by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) at the end of 2025, the creative economy sector has become a new engine of national economic growth, contributing Rp1,611.2 trillion to GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and generating investment value reaching Rp183.01 trillion in 2025. This growth has also created significant opportunities for the voice over and dubbing industry, which is increasingly in demand amid the rapid expansion of digital content,” said Deputy for Media Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, on Tuesday (12/5).
The workshop, held at the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia in West Kalimantan Province, was a strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Seruni Kabinet Merah Putih (KMP) Division VI, PT PLN (Persero), Dekranasda of Pontianak City, as well as several ministries and institutions aimed at fostering the development of creative economy talent in Pontianak and surrounding areas. The event was also attended by Selvi Ananda Gibran as Advisor to Seruni KMP and Adinda Yuanita as Advisor to Dharma Wanita Persatuan of the Ministry of Creative Economy, who also served as the person in charge of the Creative Economy Talent Development Workshop: Voice Over (Dubbing).

In addition to training participants in vocal techniques, the workshop also provided insights into Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), personal branding, and strategies for building networks within the global creative industry. On the occasion, Cecep also highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to talent development through sustainable programs such as Wonder Voice of Indonesia.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy is fully committed to supporting the voice over ecosystem through workshops such as this, as well as programs like Wonder Voice of Indonesia, which has become the largest voice over competition in the country. We want young talents not only to excel in voice performance, but also to understand business aspects, intellectual property rights, and how to build personal branding on global platforms,” Cecep stated.
During the workshop, participants also gained insights into the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the voice industry, which continues to evolve in 2026. Serving as the main speaker, Bimo Kusumo (@bimoky) shared his perspective on the importance of human emotional quality in the voice over industry amid the rise of AI technology.
“It is true that AI can imitate tones, but AI will never be able to replace empathy and storytelling that truly touches people’s hearts. In the voice over industry, we are not merely producing sound, but building emotional connections with listeners, and it is this human originality that will always remain in demand,” said Bimo, a renowned professional voice over talent and Mentor Team member at Voice Institute Indonesia.
