Jakarta, 17 March, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), in collaboration with Visinema Studios, held a limited screening of the film Na Willa at Plaza Indonesia XXI, Jakarta. This activity is part of the government’s support for strengthening the national film ecosystem as a strategic subsector of the creative economy.
Vice Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, attended the limited screening of the film Na Willa at Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta, on Tuesday (March 17, 2026).
“Stories about Indonesia’s diversity do not always have to be grand and monumental. Sometimes, they emerge from simple things—family, togetherness, and children’s imagination. And that is where their strength lies,” said Vice Minister Irene Umar on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
She also expressed appreciation for the film’s artistic quality, which was crafted with great attention to detail, from visual composition to design elements that enhance the viewing experience.
“I truly appreciate how every element in this film has been carefully thought out, from its color composition to its visual design. This reflects a strong commitment to building a cohesive and imaginative world,” she added.
Na Willa is directed and written by Ryan Adriandhy and produced by Visinema Studios. The film tells the everyday story of a six-year-old girl in Surabaya during the 1960s, growing up in a modest environment filled with imagination, wonder, and joy in seeing the world.

Executive Producer of Na Willa and CEO of Visinema Studios, Herry B. Salim, explained that the screening was made possible through collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy. He emphasized the importance of presenting stories that are not only entertaining but also emotionally impactful and lasting for audiences. According to him, Na Willa, adapted from a novel by Reda Gaudiamo, successfully portrays the world from a child’s perspective in a simple, honest, and imaginative way.
“For us at Visinema, every time we want to create a work, we always start with one simple question: what kind of story will bring meaning and stay in the hearts of the audience, even becoming part of their core memory. We see that Indonesian audiences long for warm stories—stories that can touch the heart and strengthen togetherness, family bonds, and friendships.
Na Willa is not just a film to watch, but an invitation to remember the warmth of family, friendship, and togetherness in our lives,” he said.
Governor of North Maluku, Sherly Tjoanda, who also attended the screening, expressed hope that more films with diverse themes will continue to emerge and provide meaningful value to society.
“Hopefully, there will be more films like Na Willa—not just for watching, but stories that we can take home with us. Stories that bring feelings and remind us of values, life, integrity, and honesty. Not just to fill time, but to leave us with lessons learned and values we can carry into our lives,” she said.

Director and writer of Na Willa, Ryan Adriandhy, expressed his appreciation for the government’s support toward the development of the national film industry. He hopes that Na Willa can become a top choice for Indonesian families during the Lebaran holiday.
“Hopefully, Na Willa can be a film that accompanies Indonesian families during Lebaran—a warm and simple story that can be enjoyed together with loved ones. We want to present a viewing experience that does not stop at the cinema, but lingers as a feeling carried home—about family, togetherness, and happiness. We hope Na Willa can become part of the #BahagiaBarengNaWilla moment for many Indonesian families,” he said.
The event was also attended by several officials and cross-sector stakeholders, including the President’s Special Envoy for MSMEs, Creative Economy, and Digital Ahmad Ridha Sabana; Vice Minister of Population and Family Development Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka; Vice Minister of Cooperatives Farida Farichah; Vice Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Veronica Tan; Vice Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri; Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of DKI Jakarta Atika Nur Rahmania; as well as representatives from InJourney Airports, TMII, BCA, and TransJakarta.
