Jakarta, 4 December 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency extends its appreciation to designers through the Ekraf Design Awards 2025. This exclusive award program encourages creative talents while strengthening the sustainable growth of the creative economy.
Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Irene Umar, memberi sambutan pada kegiatan Ekraf Design Festival (EDF) 2025 yang berlangsung di Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jakarta, Kamis (4/12/2025).
The award ceremony, part of the Ekraf Design Festival (EDF) 2025, took place at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jakarta. EDF 2025 is expected to serve as an initial platform designed to facilitate collaboration among architects, product designers, interior designers, and graphic designers.
“We appreciate the collaborative spirit brought by EDF 2025, which can be seen not only from one subsector but from four interconnected subsectors that create meaningful networking,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar at Galeri Emiria Soenassa, TIM, on Thursday, 4 December 2025.

Through an open-call process, 97 applicants were selected, consisting of 12 architects, 19 interior designers, 25 product designers, and 41 visual communication designers. They were then shortlisted into 20 selected designers who went through Design Camp and presented their works personally and in teams.
“There are 20 selected designers who embed the essence of the creative economy within resilient design works. Especially with the theme ‘Empathetic Resilience,’ which signifies the journey toward a sustainability point,” said Deputy Minister Irene.
The Ministry of Creative Economy believes that every design and innovation has the potential to expand access for creative talents to market their works and broaden professional networks. Deputy Minister Irene also emphasized sustainability as the key for the creative economy to continue thriving.

“Indonesia’s unique selling point—or USP—showcased here can be translated into design forms that remind us to know ourselves, love ourselves, and hence be ourselves. When we seek that USP, the purpose is to discover our own identity so that our love for Indonesia remains embedded in every design produced,” added Deputy Minister Irene.
“EDF 2025 is a collaborative program expected to become a space for showcasing and networking for designers. EDF is also expected to create a positive impact for society in building a more inclusive and sustainable creative industry. We express our appreciation to all parties who supported the first-ever EDF series,” said Director of Architecture and Design at the Ministry of Creative Economy Sabar Norma Megawati Panjaitan.
