Wamenekraf Irene Umar apresiasi Kilau Ramadan 1001 Malam Batavia PIK sebagai simbol toleransi dan penguatan ekosistem ekonomi kreatif, Batavia PIK, Sabtu (08/03/2025)
This was conveyed during her attendance at the “Kilau Ramadan 1001 Malam Batavia” event at PIK on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene believes that this moment serves as a symbol of interfaith tolerance, one that continues to shine and inspire broader positive actions in strengthening the creative economy ecosystem.
“Indonesia is a country that embraces high levels of tolerance. During the holy month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Creative Economy remains committed to fostering interfaith harmony and celebrating cultural diversity. Regardless of our different religious backgrounds, we can come together in peace and unity—especially through creative economy subsectors such as culinary, music, performing arts, and fashion shows presented during Kilau Ramadan,” said Irene.

She emphasized that Batavia PIK is not limited to any one ethnic group, but rather a space open to all who wish to enjoy food, entertainment, and fun shopping experiences.
“PIK is a truly special place—not only frequented by the Chinese-Indonesian community, but by people from all walks of life. Anyone can enjoy the experiences presented at this year’s Kilau Ramadan, which celebrates both tolerance and creativity by showcasing the many faces of Indonesia through the creative economy. The Ministry also presents highlights such as the trailer for the upcoming animated film Jumbo, which will be released during the Eid holiday, and Desa Timun, a local intellectual property that elevates Indonesian culture, including wayang,” said Irene, who was accompanied by Deputy for Media Creativity, Agustini Rahayu, and Director of Publishing and Photography, Iman Santosa.

Kilau Ramadan: 1001 Malam Batavia at Batavia PIK will run throughout March 2025. Carrying the tagline “Nikmatnya Berkah Berbuka dengan Sajian Spektakuler di Batavia PIK” (Enjoy the Blessings of Iftar with Spectacular Delights at Batavia PIK), the event offers a variety of entertainment and unique iftar experiences throughout Ramadan.

“PIK 2 has been thoughtfully designed as a hub for business, recreation, and culture to coexist in harmony. Batavia PIK plays a key role in promoting tolerance and the arts, bringing Indonesia’s cultural heritage to life while supporting local artisans in showcasing their traditional crafts and creative works. We’re delighted to collaborate with the Ministry of Creative Economy for this event. We’ve also invited government representatives, investors, cultural organizations, and creative communities to join us in building a robust creative economy ecosystem and advancing Jakarta’s status as a global city. We hope everyone visiting Kilau Ramadan this year enjoys the performances and culinary experiences we’ve prepared,” said Natalia Kusumo, CEO of Agung Sedayu Group.

During the opening of Kilau Ramadan 2025, visitors were treated to special performances including the traditional Ayodya Pala dance, a live cooking show by “Kungfu” Chef Muto, a Rampak Bedug drum ensemble, and a live music performance. The evening closed with a fashion show presented by Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC).
Also present at the event were Deputy Minister for Women Empowerment and Child Protection Veronica Tan, Singapore Ambassador Kwok Fook Seng, and ambassadors from several other countries including Tanzania, Belarus, Armenia, and Sudan.
