Jakarta, 7 August 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency strengthened its support for Indonesia’s 65 million MSMEs through Karya Kreatif Indonesia (KKI) 2025 organized by Bank Indonesia (BI), with a focus on sustainable economic development and business digitalization. Held on 7–10 August at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), the event showcased 500 creative products from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as the featured province.

“What Bank Indonesia has done deserves appreciation. The quality of the curated products, from fashion and culinary to crafts presented at KKI 2025 demonstrates that Indonesia’s creative works are capable of competing in both national and international markets,” said the Minister of Creative Economy when opening the event themed “Synergy and Innovation: The Key to Strengthening the Role of MSMEs as the Engine of Sustainable Economic Growth,” Thursday, 7 August 2025.
This year’s event adopted the tagline Kalala Mareda, meaning united in creation, representing the collaborative spirit that defines the program. The Minister also expressed readiness to strengthen cross-institutional collaboration while commending Bank Indonesia’s initiative in nurturing, curating, and opening market access for creative economy talent across regions.
“We are ready to collaborate to expand impact in capacity building, market access, or product promotion. KKI is an important momentum to demonstrate that Indonesia’s MSMEs are the backbone of future economic growth,” the Minister added.

The Minister also highlighted the potential of Indonesia’s creative industries, particularly the modest fashion sector. He emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to position the creative industry as a global economic force must be realized through concrete work and sustainable programs.
“Local creators have tremendous potential. Our task is to elevate their works to the international market,” affirmed the Minister of Creative Economy.

“We have 65 million MSMEs supporting economic growth. The majority are run by women who serve as the backbone of their families. They are not only enduring global dynamics but continue to grow,” said Ferry.
He also emphasized the importance of MSME digitalization. Currently, more than 57 million users have adopted the QRIS payment system, with 39.3 million of them being MSME players. QRIS is also connected across borders with Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and soon Japan and China.
“This is proof of synergy, proof that we are developing key pillars for a progressive, inclusive Indonesian economy and preparing future leaders,” he added.

Also present at the opening were Seruni Advisor Selvi Gibran Rakabuming, Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Deputy Ministers of the Merah Putih Cabinet, and the executives of Bank Indonesia.
The Minister of Creative Economy was accompanied by the Deputy for Creative Economy Strategic Development, Cecep Rukendi, and the Director for Crafts, Neli Yana.
