“This is a prototype aircraft that has received a MURI record and is the work of creative economy fighters from Dus Duk Duk using recycled cardboard. The piece is adorned with the artistic values of Erika Richardo to demonstrate the possibilities of your creativity. We also thank Agora for consistently providing a platform for young Indonesian generations to showcase their creative works,” stated Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene at Agora Mall, where the cardboard aircraft replica was displayed on Monday, 18 August 2025.
The cardboard aircraft replica will be exhibited until 25 August 2025. In the spirit of commemorating 80 years of Indonesian independence, this innovative work blends art, history, and sustainability: a painting themed Indonesia placed on the largest 1:10 scale cardboard flying prototype measuring 7 x 6.5 meters, made entirely from 100 percent recycled fiber. The collaboration demonstrates synergy between a creative circular local brand and a visionary content creator, serving as an implementation of gotong royong values and collective creativity in the modern era.

“For the first time, Erika shared her dream of spreading patriotism for the nation through art and inspiring power. From there, Erika emerged as an influencer to become the voice of positivity of the youth and met Dus Duk Duk to collaborate. The key is sustainability, not only creating something beautiful and impressive, but also impactful for the environment,” Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene explained.
In line with this statement, the artistic touch of Erika Richardo brings the aircraft to life through a painting that merges elements of the Indonesian archipelago, national cultural identity, fresh visual style, dynamic colors, and strong narrative.
“This is the result of hard work from all parties who have supported from the beginning in fostering creativity and artistic expression. I hope this work encourages young Indonesian talents, because many gifted individuals have the potential to elevate each creative economy subsector,” said Erika.

The prototype is not only a symbol of independence but also a reflection of a sustainable future. The hundreds of cardboard materials used are innovative products by Dus Duk Duk, emphasizing circular economic principles with low carbon footprint and full recyclability.
“In celebrating the 80th Indonesian Independence Day, I have had the chance to collaborate with a visionary content creator with extraordinary spirit since we first met in April. We share the same mission and vision regarding creativity and sustainability, and we are optimistic that this collaboration can inspire many people. We also thank the Ministry of Creative Economy for facilitating and providing the opportunity to make this collaboration a success,” said Arief Susanto, Founder and CEO of PT Kreasi Karya Raya, the company behind the Dus Duk Duk brand.

During the event, MURI presented a certificate for breaking the record of “Painting on the Largest Cardboard Aircraft Replica.” This work represents the spirit of Indonesia, which continues to progress and evolve, inspired by the history of national aviation, combined with visual depictions of the Indonesian landscape and the equator line.
“We have witnessed a monumental moment, not only in terms of size, but also in the meaning contained within the work. We can see that this cardboard aircraft has a significant scale and is painted with various expressions of Indonesian beauty. There is natural splendor, cultural richness, and outstanding national figures. This is the basis on which MURI presents the certificate, recognizing a work that can inspire young generations to continue creating and elevating national identity,” said Triyono, Senior Manager of MURI.
