Jakarta, 13 January 2026 – The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy / Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, explored opportunities for strategic collaboration with local fashion brand SOVLO, both in strengthening business scale-up and in supporting the annual art exhibition Teras Inspirasi (Terasi) 2026. The Deputy Minister also expressed appreciation for SOVLO’s consistent initiative in elevating the works of local illustrators into value-added fashion products.
The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received an audience from the local fashion brand SOVLO at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (13/1/2026).
“SOVLO provides a canvas for illustrators to commercialize their works and serves as a ‘home’ for closer interaction with consumers while building a community. Synergies like this need to be continuously strengthened to ensure sustainability and generate mutual impact,” said Deputy Minister Irene Umar during the audience with SOVLO at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 13 January 2026.
SOVLO is a local fashion brand that consistently collaborates with Indonesian illustrators through the launch of new products every month. Carrying the spirit of pride in local creative works, SOVLO not only features illustrations on its products but also presents information about the creators behind the artworks. Through this approach, consumers are invited not merely to purchase products, but also to support the economic sustainability of illustrators.
This collaborative spirit is also reflected in the plan for Teras Inspirasi (Terasi) 2026, which carries the theme “Grow Together” as a celebration of six years of SOVLO’s journey alongside illustrators and consumers. This year, Terasi plans to feature art installations by 60 curated illustrators as well as collaborative product exhibitions with several well-known names such as Dinda PS, Liunic, and Darbotz. In its previous edition, Terasi successfully attracted more than 24,000 visitors.

In addition to Terasi, in 2026 SOVLO is also planning the Rumah Ilustrator Lokal program as a learning and collaboration space for illustrators. Responding to this initiative, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of program concepts oriented toward capacity building and the sustainability of the creative ecosystem.
“For programs like Rumah Ilustrator Lokal, activities must be designed to truly accelerate illustrators to move up to the next level. From the government’s side, we are ready to bridge support through education and collaboration with visual communication design (DKV) associations,” said Deputy Minister Irene Umar.
Furthermore, the Minister’s Special Staff for Creative Economy Ecosystem Strengthening and Data, Jago Anggara, explained that the Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to take an active role in expanding SOVLO’s collaboration network, both with retail industry players and other strategic partners, to strengthen the scale of Terasi and open cross-sector collaboration opportunities.

“For the Terasi event, we can act as a bridge to connect SOVLO with venue providers such as shopping centers, as well as with brands and intellectual property partners within our network,” said Jago Anggara.
Meanwhile, SOVLO Co-Founder Djohan reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to delivering tangible impact for illustrators.
“Our brand was founded with the primary goal of elevating illustrators’ works through collaboration with SOVLO’s signature products. This year, we believe that sales alone are not enough, so we are strengthening activations such as personalization and customization, so that products not only provide exposure but also improve the welfare of illustrators,” said Djohan.
Through synergy between the government and creative industry players such as SOVLO, the Ministry of Creative Economy hopes that the local illustrator ecosystem will continue to grow sustainably, not only in terms of exposure, but also through increased economic value and a stronger position within the national creative industry.
