Jakarta, 17 August 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy enlivened the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (80th Independence Day) by organizing traditional Independence Day competitions across ten strategic locations in Jakarta. This initiative aims to revive traditional games while strengthening the creative economy ecosystem through the involvement of local Intellectual Property (IP).

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar emphasized that the inclusion of local IPs in the Independence Day games is part of the Ministry’s strategy to bring Indonesian creators’ works closer to the public. She stated that local IP stickers are not merely game attributes but part of efforts to reinforce national identity.
“The participation of ten local IP stickers in the stamp rally passport is not just a competition marker, but clear proof that creative works of our nation’s talents are present and close to society. This is a simple yet powerful way to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.

In every game, participants receive a stamp rally passport filled with local IP stickers as proof of participation. A total of ten stickers represent creative works of Indonesian creators. After completing all games at the ten designated venues, participants have the opportunity to win attractive prizes.

Milk & Mocha
Milk and Mocha are two highly popular bear characters created by Indonesian artist Melani Sie in 2016.Si Juki
Si Juki is a comic character created in 2011 by Faza Ibnu Ubaidillah, better known as Faza Meonk.Bujel (Tenka Street)
Bujel is an imaginative cat character from Tenka Street, a local IP creator under Tale X.Chipper
Chipper is one of the main animal characters in the game Paw Rumble, developed by Grinsmile Studio from Surabaya and published by Nuon Games (part of PT Nuon Digital Indonesia).Punopals
A local IP by Pamortion Studio inspired by Punakawan, traditional wayang kulit characters of Indonesia. Presented in a rubber hose cartoon style, Punopals produces short animations on social media and merchandise, popularizing wayang cultural identity in a modern way.Agus the Duck (Pete Ijo)
A charming duck character created by Patrick “Pete Ijo,” inspired by everyday moments infused with light humor.Aphu the Salaryman (Kembu Club)
Kembu Club is a collection of fruit characters depicting the life of urban office workers. One of them, Aphu the Salaryman, is an avocado character representing the hustle culture familiar to younger generations.Si Tuti (Tuti and Friends)
The main character of the comic Tuti and Friends by RM Fajar, known for its innocent and adorable personality. Si Tuti has grown into a national IP and has collaborated with various partners, including PT KAI.Cats and Seek
A local IP originating from the “hidden cat” game by Noobzilla, a studio from Indonesia. Players explore colorful illustrations to find hidden cats.Funcican
A rabbit character by animator and content creator Mas Waditya. Cican was created as a companion for children in Indonesia.

The Independence Day games and stamp rally take place simultaneously on Sunday, 17 August 2025, from 12:00 to 18:00 WIB. Venues include the National Museum, National Gallery, Sari Pacific Jakarta, Thamrin 10, Sarinah Thamrin, Plaza Indonesia, Thamrin 9, Chillax Sudirman, World Trade Center Jakarta, and Lippo Mall Nusantara.
The participation of local IPs in the form of stamps reinforces the Ministry’s commitment to bringing the works of Indonesian creators closer to the community. The stamps serve not only as game markers but also as symbols of the added value of the creative economy and its contribution to national growth.

Through this Independence Day competition, the Ministry of Economy Creative underlines that the celebration of independence is a moment to strengthen the spirit of equitable development, making independence more tangible.
