Jakarta, March 25, 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to positioning Indonesia as the premier creative economy destination in Southeast Asia. One key strategy to achieve this, according to the Minister, is through increasing the capitalization of the creative economy ecosystem.

To that end, Minister of Creative Economy Riefky welcomed a delegation from the Singhasari Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in a meeting held at Menara Merdeka, Jakarta. The Singhasari SEZ, located in Malang Raya, East Java, is Indonesia’s first digital-focused SEZ, serving as a hub for digital technology and tourism development.

"The collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Singhasari SEZ aims to strengthen the capitalization of the creative economy ecosystem and establish Indonesia as the leading creative economy destination in Southeast Asia," said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky during the audience on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Minister of Creative Economy Riefky explained that the focus of the collaboration includes joint development of the creative economy sector, joint promotional activities, and assistance with investor visits to the creative industry SEZ. To enhance the impact of this collaboration, the Ministry and Singhasari SEZ will also prioritize developing supporting infrastructure, such as production facilities, business incubators, and skills training centers. This is in line with the vision and mission of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, particularly the third point of Asta Cita, which emphasizes the creation of quality job opportunities.

He also expressed hope that this partnership would serve as a catalyst for bringing local intellectual property (IP) to the international stage and contribute to achieving the national economic growth target of 8%.
