Minister of Creative Economy Riefky, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar and the Ministry of Creative Economy deputy officials, made this statement during a working meeting with Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Nusantara 1 Building, DPR RI, Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The meeting, chaired by Vice Chairman of Commission VII, Lamhot Sinaga, covered ongoing and upcoming programs planned by Kemenekraf for the 2024–2029 period.
"The creative economy consists of 17 subsectors. However, Bappenas has identified five key priority programs: strengthening the creative economy ecosystem; enhancing the film, animation, video, and music ecosystem; supporting the fashion and craft ecosystem; developing the application and gaming ecosystem; and promoting the culinary ecosystem," said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.

Commission VII of DPR RI approved the Ministry of Creative Economy budget efficiency plan following a budget restructuring of IDR 90.5 billion from the initial allocation of IDR 279.6 billion, resulting in a 32.3% reduction. As a result, the revised budget for 2025 stands at IDR 189.1 billion.
Addressing these budget adjustments, Minister of Creative Economy Riefky emphasized that Ministry of Creative Economy programs rely on a collaborative strategy, involving government agencies, private sector partners, and individual creative economy players. Collaboration with public and private universities is also being pursued to increase human resource absorption in the creative economy sector.

"Collaboration is the key strategy we are implementing to run creative economy programs. Together with the Jakarta Regional Government, we will participate in major events celebrating Jakarta’s 500th anniversary. We are also partnering with public and private universities that offer creative economy-related programs for education, research, and capacity building. With state-owned enterprises (BUMN), the Ministry of Creative Economy has activated Game Corner at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, and to expand the reach of the Tahilalat webcomic IP, we are branding it through Garuda Indonesia airlines," Riefky explained.

Minister of Creative Economy Riefky also expressed hope for additional funding for the Ministry of Creative Economy in the future to ensure programs are implemented effectively and meet government-set targets.
Responding to Minister of Creative Economy Riefky’s presentation, Lamhot Sinaga, who chaired the meeting, summarized two key conclusions: approval of the Ministry of Creative Economy 2025 budget efficiency plan and recognition of the ministry’s additional funding request.

"We fully understand the government’s current situation. However, if we consider this as a company, the company must keep running even when it is experiencing losses. It must strive to survive and find solutions before thinking about revenue generation," stated Lamhot Sinaga.
