Banda Aceh, 25 November 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency organized the KRIYASI Aceh 2025 program, aimed at strengthening the design capacity and development of local craft products rooted in Acehnese wisdom, particularly Aceh embroidery.

“KRIYASI Aceh is a concrete step to enhance the competitiveness of local crafts through innovative, market-oriented design, while also providing wider access for artisans to scale up. This presents tremendous potential, and we all believe that Aceh’s creative industry can become a new economic engine, generating jobs and improving community welfare. This initiative reflects our commitment to further develop Aceh’s creative industry, particularly in Banda Aceh,” said Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency Teuku Riefky Harsya on Tuesday, 25 November 2025.
The program was implemented in collaboration with Rumpun, an experienced partner in research and capacity building for craft communities, focusing on transforming conventional crafts to appeal to younger generations and broader markets. Activities ran from 23–25 November 2025 through a combination of online workshops, on-site workshops, and showcases.
On-site workshops were held at Hotel Kyriad Aceh from 23–25 November 2025. Participants presented their works to Minister Teuku Riefky before exhibiting them in the evening showcase at Taman Budaya Aceh.

KRIYASI Aceh aims to enhance innovation quality, strengthen the craft ecosystem through systematic mentoring, and open new market opportunities for artisans. The program is designed to ensure sustainable development, introducing design approaches relevant to young audiences.
Fifteen participants from three selected craft brands—Pucok from Banda Aceh, Fitri Souvenir from Pidie, and Publo from North Aceh—underwent intensive mentoring covering design enhancement and product development.
The program featured competent mentors, including Aprina Murwanti, Co-Founder of Rumpun Consulting, and her team, who have also participated in the Indonesia–France Seminar on Fashion & Craftsmanship as part of international cooperation in crafts and fashion.

Through KRIYASI Aceh 2025, the Ministry of Creative Economy reaffirms its commitment to strengthen the craft subsector as a competitive, sustainable driver of local economy grounded in regional cultural heritage. This initiative is expected to serve as a structured model for regional craft development, fostering flagship products and accelerating the integration of Acehnese crafts into national and global creative industry value chains.
The event was attended by Mayor of Banda Aceh Illiza Sa’aduddin Djamal and representatives of the Aceh House of Representatives (DPRA). Minister Teuku Riefky was accompanied by Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design Yuke Sri Rahayu and Director of Crafts Neli Yana.
