Jakarta, February 3, 2025 – The Indonesian Music Promoters Association (APMI) visited the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency to share the challenges currently faced by music promoters.
The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, personally welcomed APMI in an audience session held at Menara Merdeka Building, Jakarta. Minister of Creative Economy Riefky directly listened to APMI’s concerns.
“The purpose of this meeting is to hear firsthand from APMI about the challenges in Indonesia’s music industry and address issues related to licensing, venues, and ticket taxes. The momentum of Jakarta’s 500th anniversary can be utilized to establish Jakarta as an event city and promote the sustainable growth of the music industry,” said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky during the audience session on Monday, February 3, 2025.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene expressed hope that APMI would provide a summary of data on music promoter activities to better understand the industry’s potential and find effective solutions. With this data, the Ministry of Creative Economy can assist APMI in negotiations, expedite the licensing process, and support efforts to position Jakarta as an event city.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy requires a comprehensive data summary from APMI regarding past music promotion activities to assess potential and develop effective solutions. This will enable us to assist APMI in negotiations and accelerate the licensing process,” added Deputy Minister Irene.

In response, Dino Hamid, Chairman of APMI, appreciated the audience session. He expressed hope that collaboration with the Minister of Creative Economy would help resolve issues such as licensing difficulties and venue limitations while strengthening Indonesia’s music industry ecosystem
“With this collaboration, we hope to enhance the quality and quantity of music events and open broader cooperation opportunities to maximize Indonesia’s creative economy potential,” said Dino Hamid.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy for Media Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Agustini Rahayu, and the Director for Music at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Mohammad Amin.
