Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector in driving the growth of the creative economy.
“According to BAPPENAS, seven priority subsectors have been identified, including culinary arts, crafts, fashion, applications, gaming, film-animation-video, and music. These sectors are prioritized due to their significant economic contributions, job creation potential, and global market competitiveness. I strongly believe that government-private sector collaboration is crucial, especially since enjoying music through Spotify has become one of the preferred choices for Indonesians,” said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar highlighted Spotify’s role in promoting Indonesian culture and supporting indie musicians.

“Spotify can participate in future activations by the Ministry of Creative Economy. The platform already serves as a medium to foster creativity in the audio space. What matters now is how we build strong collaboration among all stakeholders, particularly in the music subsector, which is expected to become an inclusive and sustainable growth agent,” Irene stated.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar also proposed various collaborative programs, including workshops and incubation programs to enhance local musicians' branding, access to streaming trend data to support musician-friendly policies, and curation and integration between local and national artists.
