Jakarta, January 15, 2025 – As a newly established institution, the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is committed to continuous improvement, including in cultivating a strong work culture. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, emphasized that work culture significantly influences policy-making.
To this end, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene held a meeting with Handi Kurniawan, a well-known human resources expert, at the Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
“In terms of dressing style, communication skills, and speaking manner, these should be adopted while remaining authentic. The Minister and I maintain daily communication to stay aligned in leading the Ministry of Creative Economy, enhancing the structural productivity of the organization,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.
She also took the opportunity to introduce globally recognized local products such as Aerostreet shoes, Batik Pokemon dolls, and local board games that have successfully penetrated international markets. Additionally, Irene explained the organizational structure and governance within the Ministry, as well as the 17 creative economy subsectors that could collaborate with State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).
“As a newly formed ministry, the Ministry of Creative Economy adopts core values, communication methods, and organizational culture. The way decisions are made, communication is conducted, and information is shared in meetings must all be effective,” Irene explained.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene highlighted that a strong work culture within government institutions is crucial for building relationships across departments. Respecting differences and embracing new experiences are key elements in adapting and shaping a constructive work culture.
Meanwhile, Handi Kurniawan, who also serves as Group SVP of Human Capital Strategy & Talent Management at Bank Mandiri, shared insights on Bank Mandiri’s work culture, which is rooted in the AKHLAK principles (Trustworthy, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative). Handi noted that Bank Mandiri values diversity and the principle of collaboration to ensure that employees work together with mutual respect.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy shares the same spirit as Bank Mandiri. Each employee can enhance their capabilities and contribute to building a sustainable work environment,” said Handi Kurniawan. He was accompanied at the meeting by Retno Setyas Tuti, Senior Relationship Manager for Government Solutions at Bank Mandiri, and Adi Fadhilah, Assistant Executive at Bank Mandiri.
