Ministry of Creative Economy Encourages Quality Enhancement of “Riki Rhino 2” for Global Competitiveness

Jakarta, 11 November 2025 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of Creative Economy Irene Umar encouraged the enhancement of the local animated film “Riki Rhino 2: The Bird Kingdom” to achieve higher quality and global competitiveness. This support includes marketing strategies, merchandise development, and the utilization of intellectual property (IP), along with visual upgrades to better showcase the natural beauty of Indonesia.

Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Irene Umar, menerima audiensi dengan Founder Acaraki sekaligus Produser Riki Rhino 2, Jony Yuwono, dan tim produksi Batavia Pictures di kantor Kementerian Ekonomi Kreatif, Jakarta, Selasa (11/11/2025).

“The marketing strategy needs to be refined to capture the momentum ahead of the release of Riki Rhino 2. The first film can start being screened again so audiences can reconnect with the story. In addition, merchandise products need to be prepared so the public can build a sense of closeness with the characters,” said the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy during an audience with Acaraki Founder and Riki Rhino 2 Producer, Jony Yuwono, and the Batavia Pictures production team at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, Tuesday, 11 November 2025.

This meeting is a follow-up to the private screening of “Riki Rhino 2: The Bird Kingdom” previously attended by the Deputy Minister on 16 September 2025. The Deputy Minister appreciated the efforts of the production team and Acaraki, who continue to innovate both in improving animation quality and developing derivative products, thereby strengthening the positioning of Riki Rhino in national and international markets.

The Deputy Minister noted that Riki Rhino has significant potential to raise public awareness about wildlife conservation while strengthening the local IP ecosystem. The Ministry of Creative Economy supports cross-subsector collaboration, including the activation of creative public spaces such as in Kota Tua Jakarta, to expand the economic and social impact of this homegrown creative work.

Meanwhile, Jony Yuwono explained several technical and artistic updates developed since the previous screening.

“The Deputy Minister had requested that the quality be improved to showcase the capabilities of local animators. Today we presented several upgraded scenes—from lighting and foliage textures to the detailed movements of animals and the atmosphere of Indonesia’s tropical forests. All of this was crafted more realistically so audiences can truly feel the beauty and richness of our natural environment,” said Jony.

During the same occasion, Jony also introduced Acaraki’s latest innovation, Moringacha, a beverage made from moringa leaves processed using techniques and tools similar to matcha. This initiative reflects a spirit aligned with the values of Riki Rhino: elevating local potential into modern products with global competitiveness. Acaraki, known as a modern herbal drink house in Kota Tua Jakarta, continues to create new ways to introduce Indonesia’s spice heritage to younger generations.

“We created Moringacha to show that local ingredients like moringa can be elevated through creative processing. This is not merely a drink, but a form of cultural preservation made relevant for today’s era,” he explained.

Responding to this, the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy noted that the Moringacha innovation is a tangible example of how creativity can transform local potential into new economic strength.

“This approach demonstrates how a simple ingredient such as moringa leaves can be processed into a modern product aligned with contemporary lifestyles. This is not only about culinary innovation but part of a broader strategy to elevate local potential so it can compete in global markets. Moving forward, models like Moringacha can be developed across subsectors—from culinary, packaging design, to product storytelling—to generate greater added value for the creative economy ecosystem,” said the Deputy Minister.

“Riki Rhino 2: The Bird Kingdom” is scheduled for release in 2026 as a continuation of Riki’s adventure—the Sumatran rhino carrying a message of wildlife and environmental conservation. The sequel is expected to demonstrate the maturity of the national animation industry and reaffirm the role of the creative economy as the new engine of growth toward Indonesia Emas 2045.
