Ministry of Creative Economy Encourages RedDoorz to Activate Local IP to Strengthen the Creative Economy

Jakarta, 11 August 2025 The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency received an audience from RedDoorz, a leading budget hotel network. Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya highlighted that the hospitality business plays an important role in creative economy subsectors such as interior design, culinary arts, and the synchronization of creative events.

Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, menerima audiensi dari RedDoorz, Jakarta, Senin (11/08/2025).

“We believe the hospitality sector holds a significant role within the creative economy ecosystem, not only as a platform to showcase local intellectual property (IP), but also as a channel for the development of creative subsectors and experiences that support creative events,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky during the audience held at the Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Monday, 11 August 2025.

“We see strong opportunities for collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and RedDoorz to increase the visibility of Indonesia’s intellectual property (IP) and creative economy subsectors through RedDoorz’s extensive network across various regions,” added Minister Teuku Riefky.

The Ministry also expressed interest in collaborating with RedDoorz in developing and utilizing RedDoorz properties as creative centers across regions. A hexahelix collaboration approach will be prioritized to strengthen Indonesia’s creative ecosystem.

“We have a strategy to implement a hexahelix approach. This means collaboration between government, businesses, academia, associations or communities, media, and financial institutions to optimize the potential of Indonesia’s creative economy. We are also ready to facilitate RedDoorz in developing local IPs to create impact for sustainable creative subsector development,” said Minister Teuku Riefky.

Also present during the audience, Deputy for Creative Economy Strategic Development Cecep Rukendi stated that potential collaboration can be focused through the Asta Ekraf programs, which involve talent development, infrastructure strengthening, and the utilization of intellectual property (IP).

“Collaboration can also be carried out through the Infra Ekraf program. We can activate local government assets to upgrade creative hubs or manage regional events, enabling RedDoorz accommodations to support the required lodging facilities,” said Deputy Cecep.

Additionally, Special Staff to the Minister for Strategic Issues and Inter-Institutional Affairs, Rian Syaf, noted that the Ministry welcomes potential collaborations that can be implemented as part of supporting equitable development, reflecting a stronger realization of independence.

“We believe that creative economy assets are spread across Indonesia. This is the first ministry dedicated to managing the creative ecosystem, as previously it existed only as an agency. Now operating independently, the creative economy must become a new engine of economic growth beginning at the regional level,” Rian Syaf added.

RedDoorz emphasized its longstanding vision of providing comfortable accommodations tailored to customer needs, driven by technology and innovation since 2015.

“Eighty-five percent of our business is in Indonesia, with the remaining 15 percent in the Philippines. In Indonesia, we operate 4,000 properties across around 250 cities. This makes RedDoorz part of the largest hotel network in the country. We consistently encourage the synchronization of creative events across regions,” said Mohit Gandas, Country Director of RedDoorz.

RedDoorz outlined three proposed areas of collaboration: creating thematic rooms featuring local Indonesian IP, utilizing local culinary products as breakfast vendors so that curated snacks or aggregator information can be developed together, and synchronizing creative economy–based events.

“First, we aim to prioritize IP collaboration, as we need breakthroughs in Indonesia’s hospitality sector by incorporating themes from local characters or IP-based cartoons. Through this effort, we want to position RedDoorz as a creative and family-friendly accommodation choice. Collaborating with Indonesian IPs will accelerate the partnership and acquisition processes, contributing to Indonesia’s overall economic growth,” said Gusti Raganata, Head of Government Relation.

During the audience, Minister Teuku Riefky was accompanied by Ministerial Expert Gemintang Mallarangeng. RedDoorz representatives in attendance included SVP of Human Resources Yona Aldila Pratama; Head of Sans Brand Mega Rahmawati; and Public Relations Manager Devi Febriana.
