“We believe every nation wants to incorporate the creative economy as part of their national agenda, observing the progress of Korea, Japan, and the U.S., which have done remarkably well. When Indonesia participates in VivaTech, our presence should not be merely ceremonial, but should generate tangible agreements that help build the creative economy and attract investment. We also want to offer how Indonesia can integrate several Intellectual Properties (IPs) with a touch of local culture as collaboration opportunities,” said Deputy Minister Irene during the audience at Telaga Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
VivaTech is held in Paris to connect global innovation, startups, and investors on one international platform. Next year, VivaTech will celebrate its 10th anniversary and plans to have an innovation mascot to create a different experience from previous years.
“We want to observe and track cross-sector collaboration, not only in terms of research but also how the world views Indonesia as a market. Especially since Indonesia already has strengths in utilizing and adopting technology. Essentially, the establishment and development of creativity and tech startups can also be a strategy for networking with global accelerators and venture capitals,” revealed Deputy Minister Irene, who was accompanied by the Director of Gaming, Luat S.P. Sihombing.

The Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, Muhammad Neil El Himam, added that Indonesia aims to utilize VivaTech for economic development, investment, and increasing global visibility that goes beyond mere market perception.
“We hope Indonesia will not only talk about the importance of innovation and technology but also convey more clearly about the creative economy in that global discussion, such as Web3, cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Thus, the VivaTech event will not only be a trade show but also a platform for connecting with each other to generate as many connections as possible. Ultimately, it can transform business into collaboration,” added Deputy Neil.
Responding to this, the Head of VivaTech, Francois Bitouzet, affirmed Viva Technology’s commitment, which has a mission to be a discussion venue connecting the creative ecosystem with business potential, strengthening the growth of global technology that has visibility, and establishing international partnerships with the technology ecosystem to create a mapping of global innovation.

“We must create something from people who have ideas, innovations, and projects that others need in technology transformation. Every year, we want to host something like the World Expo of Innovation with innovation that has a purpose. VivaTech is a place for soft power with an amazing lineup of speakers from the technology sub-sector so that all stakeholders can express their vision and mission, and we can understand what is happening or what will happen to move one step ahead,” said Francois Bitouzet.
The Ministry of Creative Economy welcomes this event and opens up space for collaboration in the more spectacular 10th anniversary celebration of VivaTech, so it is not only a celebration for people in the technology industry but also for global creative economy pioneers.
