Jakarta, 21 April, 2026 – The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasized that fashion events play a key role in fostering synergy among creative industry players. The upcoming Rhapsody Summit SEDASA 2026 is expected to spark new innovations in the fashion subsector.
The Minister made this statement during an audience meeting regarding the organization of Rhapsody Summit SEDASA 2026 at the Ministry’s office in Jakarta on Tuesday (April 21, 2026).
“The Ministry of Creative Economy is here to ensure that the fashion subsector has a sustainable collaborative platform. Through events like SEDASA, we create synergy among creative industry players, enabling them to build relationships and strengthen the national fashion ecosystem as a whole,” he stated.
Scheduled for May 1, 2026, Rhapsody Summit SEDASA 2026 is a national-scale fashion event that integrates fashion shows and exhibitions as a collaborative platform for visionary designers and creative industry players. Held at InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah, the event will feature a series of runway shows and exhibitions involving 13 prominent Indonesian fashion brands, ranging from Mandjha by Ivan Gunawan to Nabila Misha Fashion.

“We appreciate this initiative, which also provides exhibition space for designers. This is important to stimulate new innovations and create opportunities for direct transactions between designers and attendees, ultimately increasing the economic value of the creative sector,” the Minister added.

During the meeting, SEDASA Founder Rya Baraba explained that the event will feature a garden-themed runway, attended by approximately 450 participants, including creative professionals and fashion enthusiasts. The event will also celebrate the growth of the fashion industry through awards for inspiring figures.
“We are very pleased to receive appreciation from the Minister. This becomes a great motivation for us to continue creating through Rhapsody Summit SEDASA 2026, featuring Ivan Gunawan and emerging talent Nabila Misha as recipients of the Young Visionary Award to encourage regeneration among Indonesian designers,” she said.

Through this collaboration, the Ministry of Creative Economy reaffirms its commitment to enriching the perspectives of local designers so they can compete on a broader stage. With consistent ecosystem strengthening, the quality standards and aesthetic value of Indonesian designers’ work are expected to gain greater global recognition, further solidifying Indonesia’s position as a global hub for modest fashion.
The Minister was accompanied during the meeting by Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design Yuke Sri Rahayu and Expert Staff for Media Issues and Public Opinion Hasbil Mustaqim Lubis.
