Jakarta, August 1, 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy supports the Pagelaran Sabang Merauke 2025, which will be held on August 23–24, 2025. The Ministry of Creative Economy is opening opportunities for collaboration in terms of promotion and strengthening the performance ecosystem for the event, which will take place at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta.
Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif Irene Umar menerima audiensi dari PT. iForte Solusi Infotek (iForte), Jakarta, Jumat (01/08/2025).
“Love for culture cannot be forced, but it can be nurtured through a touching, relevant, and proud performance,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, during an audience with PT iForte Solusi Infotek (iForte) at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Friday, August 1, 2025.
As an integrated network solutions provider in Indonesia, iForte is presenting the Pagelaran Sabang Merauke as a large-scale cultural stage that provides an educational and inspirational platform for the younger generation through the richness of the archipelago’s culture. Deputy Minister Irene stated that this initiative is very strategic.
“What iForte has done through the Pagelaran Sabang Merauke shows how the industry can act as a guardian of culture. It is not only the government; every sector can play a role in protecting our heritage,” said Deputy Minister Irene.
The government encourages multi-stakeholder synergy so that cultural initiatives, such as Pagelaran Sabang Merauke, can reach a wider audience, including creative industry talent, public space managers, and representatives of friendly nations. This year’s edition marks the sixth staging of the Pagelaran Sabang Merauke, following five previous performances held on March 26, 2022, at Prambanan; June 4–5, 2022, at Djakarta Theater; November 12–13, 2022, at Ciputra Artpreneur; August 19–20, 2023; and most recently on August 17–18, 2024, at JIEXPO Jakarta with the theme Pahlawan Nusantara.
In 2025, the performance carries the theme Hikayat Nusantara, bringing legendary folk tales to life in a more entertaining and spectacular format through a colossal cultural performance. It will involve cross-generational artists from diverse professions. This performance demonstrates how synergy between government, industry, and cultural communities can produce high-quality works. This collaborative effort aligns with the Sinergi Ekraf priority program under Asta Ekraf, which positions culture and creativity as the new engine of growth for Indonesia.

The annual themes, from Ibu Pertiwi and Pahlawan Nusantara to this year’s Hikayat Nusantara, are designed to further introduce Indonesia’s diversity to society, especially the younger generation.
“iForte Sabang Merauke deeply appreciates the warm welcome from Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, and her entire team. Our performers, hailing from Aceh to Papua, always highlight the uniqueness of their respective cultures. We are proud to present the beauty of Indonesia’s culture — because it belongs to us,” said Silvi Liswanda.
Deputy Minister Irene reaffirmed that government support for cultural preservation cannot stand alone. Cross-sectoral collaboration is key to achieving the grand vision of Golden Indonesia 2045, where culture and creativity serve as an economic strength, national identity, and a driver of global competitiveness in the creative economy.
