Menteri Ekraf Teuku Riefky Harsya menerima audiensi CEO Byon Combat, jajaki kolaborasi penguatan IP lokal, Jakarta, Jumat (01/08/2025).

The Minister of Creative Economy expressed his support for local IPs such as Byon Combat, which can contribute to the growth of the national creative economy.

“Our philosophy is to encourage the creative economy, both conventional and new, to become a driver of economic growth from the regions. Many of the athletes featured also come from various parts of the country,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.

The meeting served as an opportunity to explore potential collaboration with a local IP that presents dramatic and stylish combat entertainment. Byon Combat showcases duels between digital creators and public figures in a format that combines action, visual storytelling, and unique entertainment industry characterizations.

The program is broadcast exclusively through Vidio.com and has received widespread attention on social media platforms such as TikTok and YouTube. With its creative approach, Byon Combat has successfully built a large fan community, making it an alternative entertainment format beyond conventional sports.

The Minister of Creative Economy also highlighted the potential of IPs in contributing to GDP, creating jobs, driving creative product exports, and increasing investment.

“We are ready to provide support, even with the challenges ahead. The Ministry of Creative Economy will assist as long as it does not violate regulations, because we are proud to have a local IP that is ready to go global like this,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.

Yoshua Marcellos expressed his gratitude for the government’s support. He explained that the fifth Combat Show Biz set a record as the combat sport event with the highest number of streaming viewers, reaching 27 million views in a single panel and 1.1 million concurrent viewers on YouTube.

“We are proud to be a local IP that quickly rose to the top rank of pay-per-view in Asia, surpassing countries that have long been digitally advanced,” he said.

Furthermore, Yoshua expressed hope for cross-ministerial support to strengthen the legal framework and global competitiveness of local IPs.

“We want to develop more matches and bring this IP to the international level. Government support is crucial, especially in processes such as strengthening intellectual property protection,” he explained.

Also attending the meeting from Byon Combat were COO Natasha Putri Tumakak, Project Leader Abel Ruben Septaya, Business and Development Mufti Fadhilah, and Account Executive Jeremy Widayaka.
