Jakarta, 28 April, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is exploring opportunities for collaboration with technology company Meta to expand the reach of creative economy players into international markets. This initiative reinforces the Ministry’s role as a strategic connector to ensure that local works and talents gain greater recognition and competitiveness on the global stage.
The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received an audience with Meta at the Office of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Jakarta, on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
“Domestically, we want the creative economy to become more ‘people-centered’, closer to and better understood by the public. At the international level, we aim to expand the exposure of creative economy players as well as creative events. Collaboration with platforms such as Meta can help elevate Indonesian creative works to the global stage,” said the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, during the audience with Meta at the Office of the Ministry of Creative Economy on Tuesday (28/4).
Irene also emphasized that the government acts not only as a regulator, but also as a connector to ensure that the creative ecosystem can grow optimally.
“The role of the Ministry of Creative Economy is as a matchmaker that connects industry needs with various stakeholders, while translating different interests so they can move in alignment,” she stated.
The meeting also discussed potential areas of cooperation, including cross-country market trend data exchange, the development of creator training based on gamified learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as strengthening education on community guidelines for creative players and homeless media to ensure safe and responsible activity in the digital space.

In Indonesia, Meta plays a role in supporting digital economic growth through technology development, business empowerment, and strategic partnerships. The Head of Public Policy for Meta Indonesia and the Philippines, Berni Moestafa, noted that Indonesia is one of the markets with a high level of digital technology adoption, supported by continuously evolving user creativity. This dynamic encourages Meta to continue introducing features and initiatives that empower creators and business players in Indonesia.
“Digital platform adoption in Indonesia is very strong, and we see that users here are highly creative in leveraging technology, not only for communication but also for business development. This creativity drives us to continuously deliver relevant solutions so that creators and business players can grow and reach audiences more effectively,” said Berni.

During the discussion, Meta also conveyed its commitment to supporting the capacity building of creators through various best practices in utilizing digital platforms, ranging from content creation strategies to effective public communication. This approach is expected to help creators and creative economy players optimize their digital potential.
“We are ready to share best practices with creators and creative economy players, not only to drive sales but also to build strong digital understanding from the content creation stage.
