Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, explored a strategic collaboration with Indonesia Light Project (ILP) and Multi Media Jakarta (MMJ) to strengthen Indonesia’s national music performance ecosystem on the international stage, in Jakarta on Wednesday (April 22, 2026).
ILP is a creative lighting design and operations company, while MMJ serves as a strategic partner in large-scale international multimedia production. This synergy is expected to elevate the quality of Indonesian creative productions to meet global standards.
“Today’s collaboration initiative is crucial to strengthening the foundation of our music subsector. At the Ministry of Creative Economy, we see great potential in this synergy, especially in how performance formats can become a strong emotional bridge connecting Indonesian talent with audiences abroad,” said the Deputy Minister during the meeting held at the Ministry’s office in Jakarta on Wednesday (April 22).
One of the key agendas discussed was support for the event “Gaaskuuy Hong Kong Bergoyang,” designed to engage and entertain Indonesians living overseas. In this regard, the Ministry expressed its readiness to facilitate coordination among stakeholders to ensure the event runs optimally and delivers broad impact.

Founder of Indonesia Light Project, Yoni Wijoyo, explained that “Gaaskuuy” is designed as an inclusive platform of expression, offering Indonesian migrant workers the opportunity to perform and contribute new perspectives to the performance industry.
“This concert will be different because we want Indonesians abroad not only to be spectators but also to have the opportunity to perform on stage. We hope for continued government support to strengthen this ecosystem on the international stage,” he said.

The Deputy Minister welcomed the openness of industry players in exploring collaboration, noting that such synergy reflects a shift in how Indonesia’s creative industry views international markets—not merely as performance venues, but as spaces to build business networks and gain recognition for the quality of Indonesian productions.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue technical coordination to further develop the collaboration concept. The Deputy Minister was accompanied by Special Staff for Creative Economy Ecosystem Strengthening and Data, Jago Anggara.
