“Oliver’s paintings with monk themes have the potential to be featured during the Vesak celebration and exhibited at appropriate venues, such as galleries within Borobudur Temple or other places like Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, so that the artworks can gain attention from the right communities,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene during an audience with Oliver at the Pesona Indonesia Film Building, Jakarta, on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Two of Oliver’s monk-themed paintings were presented before Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene. Oliver, who has already held four solo painting exhibitions, shared that he admires bald-headed figures, which inspired him to portray monks in his works.
“What makes Oliver special is his identity. Despite his special needs, he is able to create extraordinary artworks that can inspire society and show people the remarkable talent he possesses,” Irene stated.
Oliver’s mother, Shinwi, described the meeting as an extraordinary opportunity. She added that Ministry of Creative Economy had provided valuable input for Oliver’s artistic journey.

Several Ministry of Creative Economy officials also attended the meeting, including Deputy for Cultural and Design Creativity Yuke Sri Rahayu and Acting Director of Fine Arts and Performing Arts Dadam Mahdar. Director Dadam noted that Oliver had previously collaborated with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy between 2021 and 2024 under the leadership of Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno.
“This moment reflects a vital link within the creative economy chain. Oliver’s monk-themed paintings can inspire many and deserve to be showcased in the right venues, accompanied by the story behind the works as directed by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene,” said Dadam.
