Jakarta, June 16, 2025 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar welcomed a delegation from the Business Network International (BNI) Passion community at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Monday, June 16, 2025. The meeting explored potential strategic collaborations to strengthen Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem, particularly in expanding networks, broadening market access, and enhancing talent capacity to compete globally.

The Deputy Minister welcomed the initiative by BNI Passion, a community of cross-sector entrepreneurs in 70 countries that promotes the growth of MSMEs and businesses through a positive, structured, and professional referral system. She emphasized that Indonesia has skilled talents and products with the potential to compete globally, but often faces barriers due to limited access to global networks and collaboration opportunities.
“Our local brands are, in fact, already capable of competing globally. What they need is fellowship to expand their networks. Our focus, as the government, is to facilitate that — to be the ‘matchmaker’ for creative economy fighters so they can showcase their best work and build cross-sector synergy,” said Deputy Minister Irene.
She underscored the importance of communities like BNI Passion as grassroots ecosystem drivers. On this occasion, she also introduced the Ekraf Hunt program, which connects local and international creators with representatives from the government, media, business communities, and sponsors for collaboration.
“The creative economy cannot grow in isolation — it needs a supportive and interconnected ecosystem. Communities like BNI Passion have a vital role in accelerating this process. We see the creative economy as the new engine of growth for Indonesia,” she added.
The Ministry views BNI Passion’s global network as a strategic asset to open international market access for creative economy talents and to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global creative industry.

President of BNI Passion Videography, Ayudya Mahaswani, expressed the community’s commitment to supporting the Ministry’s agenda in building a strong, well-connected creative business ecosystem.
“We see many shared visions with the Ministry of Creative Economy. Our community brings together cross-sector business players, including those in the creative industry, who actively exchange referrals and grow together. This could be a meeting point for creating a broader impact,” Ayudya said.
Upholding the value of Givers Gain, the community noted that collaboration with the Ministry could help expand the reach of local creative industry talents through market access, training, and the global connections BNI has to offer.
“We hope this initiative can open more opportunities for creative economy talents to level up, connect globally, and grow sustainably,” she added.
Looking ahead, the potential for collaboration can be further explored, including possible joint initiatives in training, educational content development, and promoting creative products to both national and global markets.
The Ministry of Creative Economy hopes that this collaboration will serve as an important step in strengthening the ecosystem and boosting creative economy exports.
