Jakarta, June 3, 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy explored a potential strategic partnership with Emtek Group through a media visit to the SCTV Tower in Jakarta. This initiative aims to strengthen Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem by expanding access to content distribution, promotion, and monetization through digital platforms.

Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasized the importance of synergy between the government and media industry in supporting the downstreaming of information and the development of creative subsectors.
“The creative economy grows from the regions and holds immense potential across Indonesia. Cross-sectoral collaboration, including with the media, is key to building a competitive and sustainable ecosystem,” said Minister Teuku Riefky at SCTV Tower, Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
“The Ministry of Creative Economy also classifies creative economy players based on their business maturity levels, from early-stage to independent, to tailor the most appropriate support and intervention,” he added.
Currently, the Ministry is partnering with Emtek Group on the Creative Acceleration Program for the film, animation, and video subsectors, which will run throughout June 2025. The program is built on four core pillars: curation, training (coaching and mentorship), content distribution, and promotion.

Curation and training are facilitated in collaboration with the Indonesia Digital Media Institute (Indepark Institute), Emtek’s educational unit, which provides professional mentors in the digital media field. Content distribution will be carried out via the Vidio platform, featuring ten selected works.
Monetization is also a major focus. The program supports the creation of official creator accounts on Vidio to enable transparent revenue-sharing. For content promotion, Emtek Digital (EMD) will amplify the exposure of creators through Emtek’s extensive digital network.
President Director of SCM (Surya Citra Media), Sutanto Hartono, highlighted the industry's key challenges, including piracy and regulatory imbalances. He noted that by the end of 2024, 39% of the top-performing content on OTT (Over-The-Top) platforms originated from Indonesia. However, the industry still grapples with low production budgets and rampant piracy.

“We hope to see more equitable regulations and stronger protection for creative works, so the industry can achieve its full potential,” said Sutanto.
Also attending the meeting were several Emtek Group executives, including SCM Director Sudjarwo, KLY CCO Wens Mangut, Liputan6.com Editor-in-Chief Elin, Merdeka.com Editor-in-Chief Darojatun, Vidio COO Hermawan, and the Emtek Digital team.

Minister Teuku Riefky was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar; Expert Staff to the Minister for Research and Institutional Relations Dian Permanasari; Special Staff to the Minister for Communication, Media, and Public Services Renanda Bachtar; Special Staff to the Minister for Strategic Issues and Inter-Institutional Affairs Rian Firmansyah; Minister’s Expert on Media Affairs Rocklin Aprilius Siagian; Director of TV and Radio Pupung Thariq Fadillah; Director of Film, Animation, and Video Doni Setiawan; Acting Head of the Communications Bureau Reslyana Dwitasari; and Kiagoos Irvan Faisal from the Communications Bureau.
