Ministry of Creative Economy Explores Strategic Partnership with Kompas.com to Strengthen Media Synergy

Jakarta, June 10, 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy is exploring a strategic partnership with Kompas.com. The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasized the importance of the synergy of government policy publications through hexahelix collaboration with the media.

“The energy of the Ministry of Creative Economy can be realized through creativity-based acceleration or scaling up. Therefore, media coverage on creative economy sub-sectors through Kompas.com is essential,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky at Menara Kompas, Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

"The hexahelix collaboration model is vital, involving government, academia, businesses, communities, media, and financial institutions. This synergy enables the creative economy to contribute to job opportunities, value addition, and expanding information dissemination to a wider audience," He added.

In January 2025, Kompas Research and Development released a survey on the First 100 Days Performance of the Prabowo Subianto–Gibran Rakabuming Raka Administration. One section of the survey relates to the level of public confidence in the Prabowo–Gibran administration's programs, with “Advancement of the Creative Economy” ranked 8th out of 36 programs, indicating strong public expectations for creative economy programs to improve community welfare.

Minister Riefky also elaborated on the government’s ongoing efforts to collaborate with financial institutions, such as banks, to support the film industry through the People’s Business Credit (Kredit Usaha Rakyat/KUR) scheme. Additionally, the Ministry is working with the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan/OJK) for creative industry stimulus programs.

"A close review of the Asta Cita (the eight key visions outlined by President Prabowo Subianto) shows that the terms ‘creative industry’ and ‘creative economy’ are mentioned 20 times. This signals President Prabowo envisions the creative economy as a strong and sustainable ecosystem that will drive the nation’s economic growth. We also look forward to working with the Kompas.com team in providing input for the further formulation of the Creative Economy Master Plan (Rencana Induk Ekonomi Kreatif/Rindekraf),” added Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky.

After the meeting, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky took time to participate in a journalistic podcast interview with Kompas.com as part of the Naratama program. Kompas.com itself was the first online media outlet in Indonesia, launched as Kompas Online in 1995, and later rebranded as Kompas.com in 2007.

This media ecosystem has become integrated, not only providing news literacy through its website, but also expanding across digital platforms such as video and social media. Editor-in-Chief of Kompas.com, Amir Sodikin, highlighted the strong positive response. According to him, topics such as animated films, traditional Indonesian cuisine, and the journeys of musicians have gained impressive exposure and significant reader attention through storytelling-based reporting.

“Creative economy news can serve as an oasis for readers seeking non-political content. Many of the programs run by the Ministry of Creative Economy have already had a tangible impact on Indonesia’s economy and should be highlighted and promoted through mass media. We can also feature stories of individuals working in the creative industry from various regions. These local contents are appreciated not only by Indonesian audiences but also by international audiences. This will become a strength of Indonesia’s creative economy,” said Amir Sodikin.

The meeting was also attended by Video Managing Editor Laksono Hari Wiwoho, News Managing Editor Ana Shofiana Syatiri, Assistant Managing Editor Caroline Sondang Andhikayani Damanik, Executive Producers Oky Ivan Setiawan and Sabrina Asril, Account Manager Faber Tri Perwira, and Producer Putri Aulia.

Minister Teuku Riefky was accompanied by Dian Permanasari (Senior Advisor on Research and Institutional Relations), Renanda Bachtar (Special Staff for Communications, Media, and Public Services), Rian Firmansyah (Special Staff for Strategic Issues and Inter-Institutional Relations), Rocklin Aprilius Siagian (Expert Staff on Media), Dandy Yudha Feryawan (Director of Emerging Technologies), Abdul Malik (Director of ICT Services), and Kiagoos Irvan Faisal (Head of the Bureau of Communications).
