Jakarta, 11 November 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is exploring a strategic collaboration with Jawa Pos Group for the publication and development of seven priority creative economy subsectors. The creative economy sector is seeing a positive trend and, in the first semester of 2025, has exceeded the targets set in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) while also generating new employment opportunities.

“We also appreciate the development of creative economy–related content and reporting across various Jawa Pos media channels,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya during an audience with Editor-in-Chief of Koran Jawa Pos, Eko Priyono, and his team at the Pers Graha Pena Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 12 November 2025.
The Minister of Creative Economy was accompanied by the Director of Digital Content, Yuana Rochma Astuti, and the Director of Publishing and Photography, Iman Santosa. The Minister noted that these two officials can provide information regarding the continuously growing creative industry ecosystem and products with potential to enter global markets.
To boost achievements and strengthen the positive image of the creative economy as part of advancing Indonesia’s creative industry, the Minister also presented the latest developments in investment, exports, job creation, and GDP contributions from the creative economy.
“According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), from the target of 25.5 million creative economy workers, the figure has already reached 26.4 million in the first semester of 2025. Interestingly, 50 percent of the workforce is under 40 years old. The 2025–2029 RPJMN also outlines seven priority subsectors that are growing rapidly and generating significant employment—culinary, crafts, fashion, applications, music, games, as well as film-animation-video,” explained the Minister of Creative Economy.

In the same meeting, Eko Priyono expressed appreciation for the audience with the Ministry of Creative Economy, which is expected to strengthen collaboration and accommodate future news publications or initiatives planned for 2026, such as international creative economy forums, commercialization of Intellectual Property Rights, and the development of platforms and digital content.
“Jawa Pos indeed provides substantial space for publications and inspirational creative economy stories through its sections on film, arts, fashion, and culinary—some of which are priority creative economy subsectors in various regions. We hope the programs carried out by Jawa Pos can also synergize with the Ministry of Creative Economy, bringing benefits and positive impact to the public,” said Eko Priyono.
The business lines of Jawa Pos now span multiple platforms, including Jawa Pos Newspaper, Jawa Pos Online Media, Jawa Pos TV, and digital content across social media (Instagram, X, and YouTube). Jawa Pos’ news publication network also includes regional channels headquartered in Surabaya, East Java. The media organization was once led by Dahlan Iskan beginning in 1982. Today, Jawa Pos is expected to become a more modern, fast, and adaptive media outlet in responding to national and regional issues.
