The program forms part of one year of synergy between the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency and Shopee Indonesia in expanding the utilization of the digital economy for the public, particularly creative economy players across various regions. In line with efforts to support the President’s priority programs, the Minister of Creative Economy added that the Ministry is also implementing the EKRAF Peduli Program: Recover Together, Rise with Empowerment to accelerate post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in the Sumatra region.

“As directed by the President, we invite Shopee to expand its role in opening digital market access and providing assistance for affected MSMEs, so that the recovery process is not only swift but also sustainable. We also encourage synergy in supporting the President’s priority program, Koperasi Merah Putih, through community-based affiliator training,” he said on Wednesday (March 4).

The Minister of Creative Economy added that the collaboration represents a concrete step in national development. Throughout 2025, the Emak-Emak Matic and GenMatic programs successfully reached 2,637 participants across eight regions, namely Malang, Jakarta, Bogor, Solo, Balikpapan, Kediri, Bali, and Tangerang. Moving forward, the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency will also expand this program so that it can reach an even broader segment of society.

“ This collaboration is a concrete step in implementing the President’s Asta Cita, particularly in building people’s economic independence through a creative economy based on digital technology. We are also ready to expand into other segments, such as Santri Matic, as the Government seeks to continuously support economic empowerment in Islamic boarding schools for both male and female students, including their teachers,” he explained.

On that occasion, the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency together with Shopee presented appreciation awards to nine outstanding participants in the categories of Shopee Sellers, ShopeeFood Merchants, and Affiliates within the Emak-Emak Matic and GenMatic Training Program 2025 as part of efforts to strengthen the digital creative economy talent ecosystem.

The program’s achievements demonstrate significant impact, including an average eightfold increase in affiliate commissions, seller revenues growing by approximately threefold, and the number of orders through ShopeeFood increasing by around 1.8 times. Notably, there were participants who succeeded in boosting their business performance by up to twentyfold.

Deputy Director of Government Relations at Shopee, Balques Manisang, stated that the Emak-Emak Matic and GenMatic training program has been running since early 2025 with the spirit of enhancing digital literacy. He added that improvements in digital literacy are reflected in the figures, as the valuation of Indonesia’s digital economy has increased by more than 40 percent from 2021 to 2025, exceeding USD 100 billion over the past five years.
