Ministry of Creative Economy Launches “Oktoberkreasi” to Welcome Hekrafnas 2025

Jakarta, 20 October 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy has launched the Oktoberkreasi campaign to welcome National Creative Economy Day (Hekrafnas) 2025, which falls on 24 October. This collaborative campaign features a range of offline and online activations, including international forums, festivals, and social media challenges, as part of efforts to strengthen the creative economy as a new engine of national economic growth starting from the regions.

“National Creative Economy Day is not merely a one-day ceremonial celebration, but an important momentum for creative economy players to move together with the government and other stakeholders to build a more inclusive, sustainable, and impactful creative economy ecosystem,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya.

The offline activation series includes the Friends of Creative Economy (FCE) international forum on 21 October as part of the lead-up to the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026, collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Government through Jakarta Innovation Days 2025, and the Styles AsikFest festival at Lippo Mall Nusantara.

In addition, various online activations are being held through the Ministry of Creative Economy’s social media channels, including the Oktoberkreasi User Generated Content (UGC) Challenge, IP creator registration, a creative economy logo design competition, and the development of the Oktoberkreasi microsite as an integrated platform that brings together all creative activities throughout the month.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar invited all creative economy players to use this campaign as a platform to showcase leading creative works from each region, so that the public can better understand the potential and grow more optimistic about the strength of the creative economy in making tangible contributions to Indonesia’s economy.

“Indonesia’s creative wealth from Sabang to Merauke is extraordinary. Every region has its own unique selling points. The Oktoberkreasi campaign to commemorate Hekrafnas 2025 must become a space for creative economy players—from the regions to the national level—to unite and showcase the excellence of their regional creative products. Let us work together to realize the creative economy as the new engine of national economic growth that begins in the regions,” said the Deputy Minister.

The Ministry of Creative Economy also supports the National Creative Economy Movement (GEKRAFS) in organizing BRIXGEKRAFS: National Creative Economy Product Shopping Week, which will take place in 20 locations across Indonesia from 24 to 31 October 2025. This program will feature thousands of flagship products from local creative economy players and represents a tangible form of cross-sector collaboration involving banking institutions, government, creative communities, and the public to expand market access and strengthen business sustainability. The peak event will be held in Central Java as the closing of the Oktoberkreasi 2025 campaign.

Beyond public events, Hekrafnas 2025 also serves as a momentum for the Ministry of Creative Economy to sign memoranda of understanding with several strategic partners, including the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), the Puteri Indonesia Foundation and PT Mustika Ratu Tbk, the Istiqlal Mosque Management Authority, PT Lippo Malls Indonesia, and Prambors Radio.

The entire series of activities under Oktoberkreasi and Hekrafnas 2025 reflects the Ministry of Creative Economy’s strong commitment to strengthening hexahelix collaboration, particularly with government entities, communities and associations, businesses, and other stakeholders. Through synergy in the celebration of Hekrafnas 2025, the Ministry of Creative Economy seeks to ensure the sustainability of the national creative ecosystem as a key driver of inclusive, competitive, and sustainable economic growth in Indonesia.
