“Radio Masih Ada is a joint initiative to revive the spirit, memories, and sense of closeness that only radio can provide. Rather than being a challenge, digitalization offers an opportunity for radio to collaborate and grow alongside the digital ecosystem and Indonesia’s creative industry,” said Minister Teuku Riefky during the launch of “Radio Masih Ada” at the Autograph Tower Thamrin Nine lobby in Jakarta on Monday, July 7, 2025.
This program is a collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy, LPP RRI, and Thamrin Nine management as a follow-up to the MoU signed in March 2025. Through a mini studio set up in the office lobby, it serves as a platform to communicate the Ministry’s policies while also providing a creative space for employees and visitors to try their hand at broadcasting and interact directly with audiences.

“A revision of the Broadcasting Law is currently in progress, which includes several key policies to support the development of Indonesia’s radio industry, including the transition to digital terrestrial broadcasting. This strategic step requires public support so that radio remains relevant, continues to serve its ecosystem, and grows through collaboration with other creative economy sectors,” said Minister Teuku Riefky.
RRI President Director I Hendrasmo highlighted the shift in listener behavior, which shows how radio is adapting to more flexible digital formats in line with the media consumption habits of today’s generation. He believes that radio remains relevant.
“Goodstat’s survey revealed that 52 percent of Indonesian youth still listen to the radio at least once a month, with the highest frequency being two to four days a week (14.6 percent). Around 48 percent listen via digital platforms, while 52 percent still use analog devices. These findings show that radio is not disappearing but rather evolving to find new ways to engage its audience in the digital era,” said Hendrasmo.
Deputy for Media Creativity of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Agustini Rahayu, emphasized that the program is a sustainable initiative and expressed her appreciation to Thamrin Nine management for providing space and permission to use the venue for the coming week.

“The program will later move to Chubb Square, which is also part of the Thamrin Nine complex. In addition to the physical mini studio, the program will also be broadcast live. Every Monday from 12:00 to 01:00 PM, a talk show will air on Pro 2 RRI 105 FM, co-hosted by RRI announcers and the Ministry of Creative Economy’s employees who have received announcer training to ensure professional, creative economy–based programming,” said Agustini Rahayu
The launch event featured a performance by the music group Eclat, who performed their song “Belum Berakhir”, symbolizing the continued relevance and resilience of radio in the digital era.
Also present at the event were Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar, Secretary of the Ministry/Head Secretary of the Ministry of Creative Economy Dessy Ruhati, Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy Cecep Rukendi, Deputy for Cultural and Design Creativity Yuke Sri Rahayu, and Deputy for Digital and Technology Creativity Muhammad Neil El Himam.
Attendees from RRI and Thamrin Nine included Thamrin Nine Director Leonardo Ghazali, RRI Director of Services and Business Development Yonas Markus Tuhuleruw, RRI Director of Programming and Production Mistam, and Head of RRI Jakarta Station M Bugi Hidayat.
