“The EKRAF X PFN booth at the Empire XXI courtyard is highly interactive and inspiring, while also serving as a strategic initiative to encourage local filmmakers to expand market access, exchange ideas, and build collaborations with the creative community. This visitation also strengthens the synergy between the Creative Economy and national film institutions,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene at the Empire XXI courtyard on Monday, 1 December 2025.
As a speaker on Sound and Music in the coaching clinic at the EKRAF X PFN booth, Elwin Hendrijanto noted that this platform provides young filmmakers with the opportunity to understand the importance of audio elements in film production, from music composition to sound design.
“Many young filmmakers are already strong in visual storytelling but still need deeper insights into how music and sound design shape the emotion and atmosphere of a narrative. Through the sessions at the EKRAF X PFN booth, I hope more local talents will understand professional standards and be ready to compete at the global level,” said Elwin.

Additionally, Deputy Minister Irene took part in the screening of The Period of Her, a drama film created by four young female filmmakers that presents stories of women’s experiences from diverse perspectives. The series of events at JAFF 2025 includes film competitions with various awards, community forums for idea exchange and strengthening creative networks, as well as workshops, master classes, public lectures, artistic performances, children’s workshops, and cross-disciplinary art exhibitions.
The festival serves as a space for interaction and collaboration among creative actors from multiple sectors, including film and culinary arts, both domestic and international, while also opening real opportunities for local works to access global markets. With the support of the Ministry of Creative Economy, JAFF 2025 is not only a platform for celebrating high-quality films but also reaffirms the position of Indonesian cinema as a strategic sector within the creative economy and strengthens the role of the creative industry as the new engine of growth for the national economy.
