“This activity aims to enhance the capacity of creative economy talents in business management and financing readiness, while also encouraging the adoption of technology and digitalization to cover all business processes,” said Cecep Rukendi, Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy, in his opening remarks.
Similar activities were previously held in June in Bekasi and Surabaya. This time, the Business Literacy program was held in collaboration with OJK, Bank Mandiri, the Depok City Government, the Directorate General of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance, and the Creative Business Study Program of Universitas Indonesia (UI). Participants in this program strengthened their understanding of business management, financing access, and risk mitigation in the digital era.

In addition, Mohammad Fitriawan, Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development representing the Depok City Government, stated that the Depok City Government consistently strengthens synergy with the West Java Provincial Government, the Ministry of Creative Economy, OJK, banking institutions, and universities to support creative economy players and MSMEs.
“The vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 must begin with strengthening human resource capacity at the local level, such as villages, families, and independent and resilient entrepreneurs,” said Fitriawan.
The event featured two talk show sessions to encourage creative economy talents to scale up and gain access to business capital. The first session, “Introduction to Business Literacy for Creative Economy Entrepreneurs,” was presented by Anggara Hayun, Director of Access to Financing, Funding, and Investment Development. He emphasized that Business Literacy in Depok would not be a one-off activity but would be followed by continuous collaboration with Bank Mandiri.

The second session was delivered by Lukman Hakim, Senior Manager of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, who discussed the basics of entrepreneurship and business management. This was followed by Isrul Nasution, Assistant Vice President of Bank Mandiri, who introduced financing products for entrepreneurs, including the KUM-KUR loan schemes.
“The keys to becoming a successful entrepreneur are being proactive, achievement-oriented, and committed to others,” stressed Lukman Hakim.
Another important session covered “Investment Awareness, Online Loans, Online Gambling, and the Socialization of the Financial Information Service System (SLIK).” The topic aimed to protect creative economy players from financial risks.

“This topic was chosen to increase creative economy talents’ awareness of illegal investments, online loan traps, and the dangers of online gambling, which are currently widespread and potentially harmful to the community, especially creative economy players,” said Anugrah Sutejo, Senior Assistant Director of the Financial Literacy and Education Development and Evaluation Division at OJK.
To support tax literacy, the event also featured Imaduddin Zauki, Functional Tax Extension Officer at the Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance, who discussed corporate incentives through the super tax deduction scheme and simplified tax administration.
In addition, Hadining Kusumastuti, Head of the Creative Business Study Program at UI, highlighted the role of universities in developing an innovation- and intellectual property-based creative economy. One of the key points she shared was the importance of registering intellectual property, such as business trademarks or products, which can be facilitated by UI’s Creative Lab for Creative Business (Biskre).
