This partnership with Canva is designed to help address challenges in achieving that target. I am truly inspired by Canva’s remarkable achievements. This web-based graphic design platform empowers anyone, regardless of background or experience, to quickly and easily create captivating visual content,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky during his remarks at the Gedung Film Pesona Indonesia, Jakarta, on Monday, July 28, 2025.

“We welcome Canva’s initiative to localize more content that reflects Indonesia’s cultural richness, heritage, and business landscape. This is crucial to ensure that the tools used by our communities remain relevant while strengthening national identity,” said Minister Teuku Riefky.
Yani Hornilla Donato reaffirmed Canva’s commitment to supporting the growth of Indonesia’s creative economy through a platform that empowers businesses of all scales.
“In the past year alone, the Indonesian community has created over 1 billion designs on Canva. This is a powerful reflection of how creativity thrives here—from classrooms and universities to small businesses and startups. Together, we are supporting the government’s broader agenda in digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and the creative industry—each an essential pillar of Indonesia’s digital transformation,” Yani explained.

As part of the partnership, Canva will provide special access to Canva Pro for creative economy players and associations within the Ministry’s network. Monthly training sessions will also be held for government teams and creative economy practitioners to strengthen practical design skills in today’s visually driven digital era.
In addition, Canva will expand its template collection tailored to the local context, highlighting Indonesia’s cultural wealth and the diversity of creative sectors. This initiative is expected to help creative economy players produce content that is more relevant, engaging, and impactful. Indonesia is currently Canva’s largest market in Asia and its third-largest globally. In 2024, more than one billion designs were created by Indonesian users on the platform, including 500 million presentations, making Indonesia the world’s number one market in that category.
