Menekraf Teuku Riefky apresiasi film Qodrat 2 yang tembus lebih dari 1,7 juta penonton dalam 10 hari penayangan, Plaza Senayan XXI, Jakarta, Jumat (11/04/2025).
Qodrat 2 is one of several Indonesian films released during the 2025 Eid holiday season to have drawn over one million viewers. Overall, locally produced films managed to attract more than 5 million moviegoers during this period, a result Minister of Creative Economy Riefky described as a positive signal for the growth of the creative industry, particularly the film subsector.
The success of Qodrat 2 also reinforces horror as one of the driving genres of Indonesia’s film industry, with data showing that horror remains the top choice among local audiences, accounting for 40.2% and 42% of box office share over the past two years.
The Ministry of Creative Economy praises filmmakers who continue to innovate in exploring both visual storytelling and narrative depth to deliver high-quality, competitive works. The ministry hopes more films will represent Indonesia’s diverse perspectives and rich cultural heritage, allowing the film industry to grow inclusively, sustainably, and remain relevant in the global market.
Screened across more than 1,700 theaters during the Eid holidays, Qodrat 2 is also set to be released in over nine countries outside Indonesia. The Ministry of Creative Economy encourages the film’s expanded distribution, both nationally and internationally, to strengthen the global competitiveness of Indonesian cinema.
