Jakarta, 5 May, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) held a dialogue forum titled “Facilitation of Fiscal & Non-Fiscal Incentives for the Game Industry,” bringing together the government, industry players, and relevant stakeholders. The event was part of the drafting process for a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on the Acceleration of the National Game Industry Development.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, delivered remarks at the dialogue forum “Facilitation of Fiscal & Non-Fiscal Incentives for the Game Industry,” held at Apple Developer Institute for Professionals, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/5/2026).
The forum was a collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Apple Developer Institute for Games, aimed at formulating policies based on the real needs of the industry. Deputy Minister Irene Umar emphasized the importance of hexahelix collaboration in building a sustainable, adaptive, and transparent game ecosystem.
“The global game industry generated USD 188 billion in 2023, with Indonesia contributing approximately USD 2 billion. However, the market share of Indonesian game developers is still dominated by foreign players. The Ministry of Creative Economy is ready to collaborate in mapping strategies to ensure that Indonesia’s talent pool is not absorbed by other countries,” said the Deputy Minister, Tuesday (5/5).

The Deputy Minister added that strengthening the industry should not only focus on game developers but also on the entire value chain, including opening opportunities for professions such as Community Management and Game Quality Assurance (QA) Tester. The government is prepared to support this through various instruments, including incentives and Creative Economy People’s Business Credit (KUR) amounting to IDR 10 trillion.
“We need to observe what has been achieved by the esports community, which has created many job opportunities and contributed significantly to the economy. I want Indonesia to become a major force in the game industry, as this is the new engine of growth that is clearly within reach,” she stated.
