Jakarta, 6 May, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) continues to strengthen priority subsectors that have a direct impact on the national economy. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received an audience with representatives of V2 Indonesia at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/6/2026).
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, emphasized that Indonesia has significant potential in developing a technology-based creative economy. However, improving talent quality remains key to competing at the global level.
“The current challenge is to strengthen talent quality by attracting them through training and ensuring they are able to compete globally, particularly in mastering new technologies such as AI (artificial intelligence) and game engines,” said the Deputy Minister during the meeting with V2 Indonesia at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/6).
The Deputy Minister also highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in accelerating the growth of the digital creative industry.

“The government cannot work alone. Collaboration with creative industry players such as V2 Indonesia is essential to open access and build an ecosystem capable of optimally absorbing creative talents,” she added.
During the meeting, V2 Indonesia presented three strategic initiatives currently being developed, namely the Unreal Engine Academy, AI-based virtual IP characters, and an education platform utilizing artificial intelligence for personalized learning. These initiatives aim to strengthen the capacity of national creative talents in technology-driven digital content production.
CEO of V2 Indonesia, Rudi Hidayat, stated that these initiatives are intended to enhance the capacity of national creative talents, particularly in the film, digital content, and advertising sectors.
“Other countries have advanced in content technology, multimedia, and various digital tools. Therefore, we aim to establish the Unreal Engine Academy in Indonesia so that talents in the film, digital content, and advertising subsectors are better prepared to work with technologies relevant to their generation. We also aim to develop educational IP-based characters such as Zeno. In addition, there is the Class+ platform based on a learning system that utilizes AI as a modern learning method,” he explained.

Rudi added that the number of talents proficient in Unreal Engine technology in Indonesia remains limited, highlighting the need for a more structured and sustainable learning ecosystem. This is expected to create high-quality human resources capable of producing digital content across subsectors such as film, animation, and immersive experiences.
“Currently, there is a concept known as agentic AI or agentic as a service. This is something Indonesia must prepare for, where AI is able to provide solutions. It is not only about us asking AI systems, but rather AI offering solutions to what we are doing or planning to do. Today, we also gained valuable insights from the Deputy Minister, which we will develop further based on the advice given,” he concluded.
